Bradford Ace
Why such a huge break between GP's 2 & 3?? Surely they could find someone to host one on May 28th??? Only just got going & then a months break which is poor. Should only be a month off for the World Cup surely??

Ghostwalker
HAVE heard Vetlanda mentioned Yeah I have read that as well. http://www.smt.se/article/vetlanda-soker-stortavling/ In general though I think that Målilla and Stockholm are a bit too close, only 5 weeks apart. Ghostwalker
What is Vetlanda like as a track ? Very boring. About 350-360m long, gater's paradise with allot of dirt but the dirt is so loose and heavy that it produces very poor racing. DutchGrasstrack
The SWC will allow reserve in the teams as from next year. This reserve rider can replace a ride who got injured, so for example Poland would have been able to replace Hamel in Gniezno earlier this year. Also it seems that this reserve rider must be a U21 rider. GP's will need at least 16 heats to complete, this was 12 in previous years. http://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/562695/powazne-zmiany-w-grand-prix-i-dps

You don't need a long memory to remember a cosy swap in one SWC final.that had a huge effect. I would not allow a replacement for illness or a re occurrence of a niggling injury. If the rider is fit enough to start he should be made to finish the meeting. Injury via a crash is a different matter of course.
screm
While I think this rule change is a good one, and long overdue, I can see a scenario where this will be open to abuse.

Humphrey Appleby
CONFIRMATION ... http://speedwaygp.com/news/article/4611/plenty-in-reserve-for-swc Seems a sensible idea Hardly revolutionary. Reserves were allowed for years in the past, and what's to stop a rider feigning injury to allow a reserve to ride? Why not just allow a reserve to ride for whatever reason?
OveFundinFan
but this reserve is to be an under 21 year old, which may (or may not) be different at this level - SWC. I think its a good move. It ensures if a rider gets injured during the meeting then there is a rider replacement available so the paying public still get to see 4 man races, and just as important..... a young rider gets a chance to soak up the atmosphere of world championship meetings from a rider perspective, and if given a chance to ride that experience is enhanced to a higher level..... AND we know what some under 21 year olds can do given a chance. (for those with dodgy memories...... they can beat the pants off established stars).
screm
Ok this could be open to abuse, rider in the team has a couple of stinker rides, says he is injured and pulls out of the meeting so the reserve can get a couple of rides. Even if that were to happen it still has to be better than the situation we had where a team is penalised through no fault of their own. Humphrey Appleby
Just let a reserve ride for any reason - the way it used to be. If you avoid a team putting a ringer there, then limit the number of rides to less than what the 1-4 will each ride.
