krompa
It is clear that GP needs 4 riders and needs them quick. Ward, Sayfutdinov, G Laguta and Piotr Pawlicki. Less politics, more quality and show! Of course it will never happen as there has to be wild card for Harris, for Jonsson/Lindback and for one of Danes. More likely because Laguta and Emil does not want to be in the Gp-series. Why I don't know, maybe because of the monster sponsorship of few selected riders. DutchGrasstrack
Money money money My god what a brilliant meeting we've seen tonight in Leszno once again shows how brilliant track it is great weekend overall with Gdansk yesterday and this big one today. uk_martin
...Great pity that both Russian, Laguta and Sayfutdinov are not in the GP. They are both in the SEC Remember the SEC? That competition that Britain doesn't believe in?
Ghostwalker
They are both in the SEC Remember the SEC? competition that Britain doesn't believe in? In the SEC, you will also find riders like the Pawlicki brothers, Antonio Lindbäck... Although SEC does not have the GP monster children but I dont mind that. Harris won't get a wildcard.Lindback deserves a spot, and kildermand has a decent claim. Emil will be offered a wildcard as will Darcy. Laguta hasn't entered qualifiers for gp for years. Pawlicki/zmarzlik could well get a wc if no pole qualifies from challenge. Remember how many poles there were in world finals in the 80s who were there effectively under a quota system - far less competitive than the likes of Harris and jonsson. Ghostwalker
I IIRC, Laguta was offered a wild card a few years ago but turned it down.
SteveLyric2
They are both in the SEC Remember the SEC? That competition that Britain doesn't believe in? Haven't I read somewhere that the Brits will take part next year - if they are invited?! In the SEC and the Pairs.? topsoil
One thing that struck me from watching the start of the meeting was the very small crowd it attracted. I take it Polish fans are only interested in league meetings?
racers and royals
One thing that struck me from watching the start of the meeting was the very small crowd it attracted. I take it Polish fans are only interested in league meetings?I commented on that myself on Sunday-Sportowefakty estimated the attendance at 6,000-not sure of the new capacity of the stadium but it`s certainly over 15,000. I have thought for a few seasons that the Polish fans do not travel a lot to watch their domestic speedway-so Sunday`s crowd would have been made up of mainly Leszno fans. certainly in the UK fans seem to travel more to watch these sort of meetings. DutchGrasstrack
No way there were 6.000 people in a different article they said 4k with is more like it. Anyway, for those interested; my pics and report in Dutch here: http://www.baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/795/imme-grigory-laguta-winnaar-ekstraliga-individueel-kampioenschap.html
