deanr1
Why wasn't it held at Brandon stadium ? I've heard it all now!
robert72
I've heard it all now! Really ? If you pay to rent the stadium why can't you hold a meeting afterwards in the bar ? You would already have your customers there to watch the racing, they surely would stay a further hour for a meeting on the future of the club. Woz01
Buidbase were mentioned as a potential backer with Mick Buildbase probably would have funds to be fair. Nice to know there are options. Are local residents, stock car fans, mps and councillors going to come to a meeting at 10pm at night? It's not just about speedway fans. cityrebel
Really shows what a sorry state British Speedway is in that the team currently at the top of the league is having to worry about their future. Hope you guys get your stadium sorted long-term. It's nothing new. Speedway has been losing historic venues to redevelopment since 1960. As the population continues to grow, the need for new homes to be built becomes greater. It's an ongoing problem that will never go away. Woz01
Talk at the meeting was having extra events to make the stadium viable and show it's being used. Well there is one on 7th August, a sidecar meeting only £10 each. I will be supporting this.

1 valve
Does anybody know to what extent there is truth and scope of a supposed restrictive covenant placed on the Brandon site by the late Charles Ochiltree? If one does exist how is it being used to challenge the plans of the current owners?
Dave Jones
Does anybody know to what extent there is truth and scope of a supposed restrictive covenant placed on the Brandon site by the late Charles Ochiltree? If one does exist how is it being used to challenge the plans of the current owners? That one has been quashed by the local councillor, along with a few other bits of speculation including the supposed preservation order on parts of the stadium..Mick Horton's curfews were described as "self imposed" I believe. It's all in Speedybee's excellent report, a link to which is in the post above yours.

It's all in Speedybee's excellent report, a link to which is in the post above yours. The report which is a very good read refers to rumors of a "long lease" being quashed. I recall that mention had previously been made of the CO inserting a restrictive covenant in the sale agreement/title deeds. if this was the case this is far stronger than an extended intended use lease agreement. Or was this wishful thinking from the outset?
