DON'T forget a huge amount of the lower tier is covered and unused because of viewing constrictions due to the height of the fence. Not sure there was anywhere near 15,000 Poles and tourists there.

BBC are interested in much sport these days, not even Open golf.

Just an idea ( and at every Grand Prix) but if after heat 20 if neither reserve have had a ride why not let them have a race against each other before the semi finals .. Be a fantastic experience for them both

I know how you feel.

It did keep the zombies away though!

In the 'Internationale' at Wimbledon, if you failed to score in two successive rides, you missed your next ride (just that one) and a reserve got a go. It added a bit of interest as well.

I'm up for the Berwick meeting if you require my services keeping them away

Well is been a very long time since I have posted on here but my thoughts on yesterday's British GP.

Firstly took my brother in-law and sis in-law who had never been to a Speedway meeting in their lives. Half way through I asked the million dollar question 'What do you think then and be honest if you don't like it tell me' Both said they were loving it and wish they had bought a programme now so they could keep up with the scores better. At the end they both said they have got to do that again, so a small plus and a bit of relief for me.

I agree with an earlier comment about the fanzone area, a little disappointed but hey it was something different for me to experience and maybe an area to work on to improve the experience for next year. Could not quite see all the old vintage bikes but was nice to see Wiggy's bike there brought back some nice memories. Not listened to Radio 1 in donkeys years so had no idea who the dj bloke was and won't be tuning in anytime soon lol

The racing I thought was very good, been Cardiff twice before and for me this was far better than the previous two I had been too. It is clear the organisers have learnt and are learning from each staging at the arena, so we'll done there. Well done to Antonio who looked fast all night. Best race for me was Danny's heat 19 win. Best gate of the night for me had to be Tai's semi final win from Gate 3 which was a bit of a graveyard gate for most of the night but he made it work when it mattered. Lots of good passing moments from many riders during the meeting, so all in all yeah bloody enjoyed it.

Read all the stuff on Tai, we do like to knock a British World Champion or someone British who does well don't we when one comes along. I'm sure I have seen hi jinks on other winning podiums after a meeting. Maybe the riders could become a bit more professional during National Anthems and show respect then once over let themselves become more natural after all they all know each other so well. I never read too much into Tai jumping in the BMW and taking it for a spin, in fact opportunity was there and he took it anyone of the 3 could have done it but clearly never thought of it. As for the press conference I felt Tai is more at home in front of the press than Antonio and Bartosz but both came across fine.

Had murders on both previous visits getting back to the M4 after the meeting from parking near the Castle, so looked at the map and parked up at Cardiff FC. Had no problems in getting out after at all, so another plus.

Only gripe for me was the amount of people (Block N) who insisted on either going out or coming back during or as a race started!! Got no problem getting up and down as many times as you like during a break in racing but wanting to go out or comeback during or at the start of a race 'REALLY' !!

First Cardiff since 2012 after 4 in 5 years before then. Enjoyed it but not the degree i want to do it every season. Idiot in front of me giving hand signs to (quiet!) Poles didn't help. About 2 dozen people wanted to lay him out. As for the crowd I thought it looked less than i've seen before.

Good GP and the whole show was very entertaining, the racing got better the longer it went on but it's also clear the track held up well.

Not sure about the new press conference maybe if we could have heard it it might have been better but second bend middle tier it wasn't clear at all.

It did look as though the crowd was slightly up on last years

Tbh I'm sick of the duffers in here who never go to speedway moaning like usual. I hope all riders take a leaf out of this book and finally get you to throw in the towel and leave speedway to people who actually enjoy it. It's tragic chat you sad sad old men. You contribute nothing.

Only been to 5 GP's at Cardiff (missed 2007). As a weekend event I always enjoyed the Friday night social more than the actual GP, as I found the racing a bit dull.

After a slow start the racing got better. Definitely the best meeting I've seen there.

Why do they insist on removing caps from soft drinks bottles?

Speedway can't afford to lose any more 'supporters' even though they might be adhered to an armchair. I started going to Speedway in the very early 50s, I'm the son of a pioneer rider, worked as a mechanic and sometime sponsor and travelled all over the country. These days I'm elderly, partially sighted, skint and a very long way from the nearest track. I sometimes make critical remarks, as is my right, if you don't like that, maybe I could get young Woffinden to describe where you can go?

I should add that I thoroughly enjoyed the GP.

Just home from Cardiff and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Radio 1 DJ and meeting presenter was total pants though, he even looked like a fish out of water.

Can't wait for next years event to come round now.

If speedway is more and more frequented with assholes like you ,you wont have long to wait .

Probably one of the best meetings I've seen at Cardiff IMO. Track was smooth and the boys could give it 100% knowing the track would cut up.

Lindback deserved winner was very quick all night. See you next year Cardiff.

something has fallen onto place with the way they prepare one off tracks . the racing has been better at these than some of the permanent places , and the cardiff owners are allowing access 2 weeks before cant be doing any harm either

That "something" appears to be the length of time given to prepare the track.

Since the shambles at Warsaw 2015, I think temporary tracks have had 2 weeks instead of one to be prepared.

Having said that, not sure about Cardiff this year as Beyoncé had a gig in the Principality Stadium sometime the week before.

Yes- Speedsport had 9 days max this year.
