Somerset And The Confederate Flag

Recommended Posts

If it's of any inte rest to any body a documentary called I think "inside the klu klux klan" on Monday night one of their offices was covered in the confederate flags. Make of that what you will.

And the National Front used the Union Flag. Make of that what you will...

No doubt the professional offendees who go out of their way to be offended on everyones behalf will soon jump onto some other ludicrous target, weve had ba ba blacksheep etc, these left wing morons will find offence with anything and everything. A friend of mine who actually is black himself stated these people who get offended on his behalf are actually more offensive than the thing they are complaining about. He sees nothing wrong with the Rebels body colour and heres one for the offendees, he had never even likened it to slavery, racism, or any other lefty ist or ism. Political correctness should be consigned to the bin where it belongs, funny how things that could be offensive to the majority are always overlooked.

Love it when this happens :rolleyes::blink:

Think you should try reading the thread before going off on one, although you are in good company. Not sure how many times it has been stated that it is in America where the flag has its controversial meaning. In the UK it isn't really an emblem of controversy, but it is also not an emblem that has any real local meaning either

It was interesting to see a programme on Channel 4 last night, called "Inside the Klu Klux Klan".

The conferderate flag was very prominent in the organisation. They were all flying it outside their homes, had sew on patches on their clothes. One member even wore Confederate Flag trousers!

I thought TRURO would have been on here by now celebrating the independance granted to Cornwall yesterday by that Cornish holiday maker David Cameron, it will take a while to build the border posts but probably best that you bring your passports from now on. Talking of flags the Cornish flag is a lot of balls. The Black and white one is St Pirans flag and seems to be taking over.

The flag you're referring to is the flag of the Duke of Cornwall. A lot of balls in more than one way.

Isn't this typical of British speedway? There are British flags wanting a chance and instead Somerset turn to a foreign flag.....

Did you complain about Wimbledon using the Vietnam flag?

All Somerset have done is do what other teams, such as Reading and Lakeside, have done in the past.

Reading adopted the old Harringay nickname and emblem. Lakeside did the same with West Ham.

Somerset have taken over the "Rebels" from Oxford and White City.
