Berwick V Peterborough (on Sky) Wed, July 8th

No wonder Pl clubs are in trouble if that is the sort teams and standard of racing that is being put out ..total garbage .

Said the Elite League snob.. Thankfully tonights dire 'entertainment' is not typical of the Premier League at all..you should come and watch a Monarchs v Glasgow match or similar..

I stopped going to Berwick I go to Newcastle instead, my kids loved going to Berwick for speedway, they have quickly forgotten and settled into Brough Park..

My opinion only, Berwick Bandits are a) badly managed. B). Very badly promoted. c) track preparation very poor. d) The centre green presenter is well past his sell buy date.

Berwick fans are a really great bunch of people, probably the nicest enthusiastic fans in British speedway, they really deserve better than they are being served up at Berwick every Saturday. I was convinced to attend Berwick Speedway by a die hard fan who is constantly lambasted on this forum for his views. Not once did he ever knock the club, just extolled how good speedway is and that my kids would love it, they do, just no longer at Berwick.

Well done the Panthers. The whole team rode well and Worrall and Roynan were excellent guests. Berwick to be fair didn't give up and battled to the end. Jorgensen looked very good. I hope Robert Lambert is O'K, it was a horrible looking crash.

usually on lap 2

Or when he gets passed took a lot of stick tonight from home fans cant blame them that was a shocker from Berwick would have been worse if Robert had not been withdrawn [best wishes for a speedy recovery].Well done the Panthers.Saw a lot of people leave before me [after heat 13] dont think anyone there for first time will hurry back. Two weeks ago gating was no problem for Bandits what was wrong tonight?

Best draw a line under this one I reckon. But to be honest this result has been coming. Depending on a guest and r/r every week is asking a lot. The damage was done in the first 5 heats, Garcia EF heat 1, Edberg EF heat 2 after leading, Fisher EF heat 3, Doolan through the tapes heat 4, TJ making his only bad start of the night on the T/R in heat 5. Lesson in gating for Berwick tonight. TJ after heat 5 was excellent, Doolan to be fair gave everything, can't ask for more than that, big differences tonight were the guests at number 1 and the reserves, Hall's worst meeting for Berwick since his comeback and Edberg looks like a rider whose confidence is shot. I'm not going to criticise him, because he's got bigger balls than me to even get on a bike, but speedway is no sport if you are not fully committed. Maybe he's had one bad injury too many?

First time I have seen Robert Lambert in the flesh (apart from Saturday night) and he looks a prospect. Glad he got up from the crash, looked a nasty one.

I know a lot on here are going to laugh when I say this but there was actually some good racing here tonight. It always amazes me the comments after Sky meetings on here. Every meeting for the past few weeks has been slated. Reading the comments after these meeting you wonder why anybody watches at all.

Sheffield away tomorrow night (oh dear) and then I hope there is a big improvement for Ipswich on Saturday. Tonight was the first of four big meetings in a week. Three more performances like that tonight and things will go south very quickly.

Well done to Peterborough, another club that have had tough times but still staying alive.

I must say I enjoy the buzz of the Sky meetings.

It was a disaster of start for us, but Doolan and Jorgenson managed to salvage a bit of pride.

Good first heat win for Coty, well shepherded home by Fisher.

Robert Lambert is a real talent, could be another World Champion in the making. Hopefully her is OK after his fall.

I'll leave our weaknesses for the folk on here that are better at pointing them out than I...

Was looking forward to seeing my beloved Bandits on TV after good results, thought a home win was a realistic expectation

I thought it was a poor meeting but have seen worse meetings at Berwick

A lot of the "racing" came after the beating we took early doors and some half hearted 1st bends.... by the Panthers

Riders getting out of shape, not a good advert infact I was surprised how big the crowd was initially...

Tonight was a great opportunity to get the fans back to Shielfield and let us know what we are missing...

What will entice people to come back? free entry for kids? Advertise all you want, what's the point if your product is garbage?

Edberg and Hall struggled but crikey Blackbird, Roynon and Konopka were hardly outstanding either....

TJ and Garcia rode well - Fisher not the rider he was... Kevin Doolan giving it the big un passing Konopka - aye class Kevin

Luckily Lambert withdrew..... Vissing was a miss

Well Done Panthers - you have done us twice now

Pearson going mad because Berwick got back in it to lose by 8. Someone tell him Lambert would have been in 3 of them races 6 races - Berwick got lucky and still lost.

:D:t:

Cant make out if your trying to be funny or you are just 2-3 hours behind normal people

I read a book once - green it was - his real name is Mr Heslop :D

No wonder there were so many unsatisfactory starts when the there is no effort made by the Start Marshall to get any of the riders nearer to the tapes.

Even Pearson eventually commented that the Official was not doing his job after the nth re-run.

Over the past couple of years whenever I've been down to Shielfield, I've noticed this chaos at the start, and tonight, the camera shot directly above the start gate highlighted how much space was afforded to the riders to roll.

Time Berwick put someone competent in this job, as the present incumbent is as effective as a chocolate teapot.

If anyone thinks the racing at Berwick is typical of the PL then they really have got a lot to learn. That was a dreadful meeting but to use it to score petty points by blinkered EL fans is pretty desperate.

One of the best things about the PL is that with a couple of idiotic exceptions we don't have the type of 'supporters' who pollute the EL, and some of whom have brought their poison into this thread.
