King's Lynn Vs Poole 1st July

Recommended Posts

I am hoping for better at a track that should suit him, can't see us winning at Kings Lynn but like tonight a point is possible

With Millik now riding for KL we have no chance of even getting a point......scoring 30 points will be an achievement!!!!!

I understand how Coventry felt and appreciate Buster's dilemma. No doubt Buster has a break even point of customers in that they have to achieve through-out the season. When looking through the fixture list Teams like Poole are one of the top games and would there expect a bumper crowd and a good cash input . When Sky televise a meeting it puts a different problem in the mix. Yes, Buster will get a premium from Sky for the privilege, No they wont get the bumper crowd he was hoping for. Torn between the devil and the deep blue sea..

Normally there would be a few Poole supporters who travel to away meetings, but when it's being televised that number would be decimated. Even if Buster was given the ticket away for free, very few would travel the 200 miles to take up the offer. If this match was played against say Leicester or Coventry say Buster would have more of a chance to attract away supporters.

Few years back, on a warm Good Friday there were 3500 fans who came to watch an exciting speedway match between these two teams. and not a television camera in sight. I think the weather will play a bigger part in Wednesday's fixture than then price on the gate. and hope the fans turn out in force. I would have thought a token reduction could be implemented to show faith, but whatever Buster does, he'll be perceived as wrong. Its a no-win situation...

Are you being serious or joking?

Holder and Janowski ride this track as well as there own. Think this could go either way

As you say to an away fan unless its a fairly local team makes little difference but in my opinion it is also about the home support and i expect they dont all live on the clubs doorstep so they could be tempted to stay at home to watch on tv but a price reduction may encourage them away from the sofa and its also about the club giving something back to its supporters

The thing for Buster is he's never had any need to reduce admission in the past as the fans seem to turn up regardless, whether on TV or not. That's a good thing, pretty much the same down Dorset too is it not?

He always says that, he isn't a optomist !

i agree with that and we had a very good crowd on the last tv meeting although the prices were reduced to a tenner, it could be they would have turned up anyway you can't say for certain, i certainly hope it is a good crowd on wednesday even if i can't get in for a tenner, the Norfolk arena can produce a fantastic atmosphere as it was at the world cup meeting.

I think we should be ok for a point!

Changes in the riding order for Poole a distinct possibility - with Gomolski and Watt at 2&4 respectively?!

Does it really matter where Gomolski rides?? He will still score zero, zip,Nick all, nothing, nought, etc whether he rides at 1,2,3,4,5,6,or7!!!!!!!!!!! Edited by scottyfan

With a first cuppa on the patio, sitting here, marvelling at the weather this morning. Still, you wouldn't believe how still it is. Not a breath of wind. The thermometer indicates 20 degrees already. and all we can hear is some distance lorries. It really is wonderful to be out and up, experiencing this each day...

Just thinking, Even though the match today, against Poole, is still 13 hrs away, how many people are in transit already?? Makes you realise how time consuming, it is to Speedway rider/Mechanic, going from one venue to another.....

As a speedway supporter, I love to watch the races, but I wouldn't want the life of a rider travelling 4 countries on a weekly basis. They deserve all the riches they get....... :t:

No doubt the top riders earn big bucks, the lesser ones, not so much, But they all get my respect for the effort they apply......

Yet, we (Forum Posters) have the audacity to moan about them.......... Yeah Right.......... :icon_smile_clown:

Hopefully after tonight we won't be discussing team changes but a bright future going forward.

Tonight is the night I'd love a 60-30 in the Stars favour with good racing.

Sunshine Speedway, there's nothing better

King's Lynn had a very convincing win over Lakeside but Lakeside are very poor away from home and one of the 3 teams in the league still to record an away win (Swindon & Leicester being the other 2)

Tonight will give more of an idea as to how strong or back in form King's Lynn are as Poole will not be an easy opposition esp with track specialists in Holder & Janowski.

I think this could go either way with a lot depending on Bjerre,Porsing and Gomoski.

On paper this should be a good one for sky to show after some of their recent choices

WTF is your beef with Gomolski?? All you are doing on here is slagging him off and the fella doesn't deserve it! And try expressing yourself like a grown up..go on, you can do it...can you..?

On a good day, we could batter them. Likewise on a bad day they could do us the same. Going man for man, my opinion would be Poole 4-3. Track wise, they're not much to choose either way. Gating, again not much to choose again. Not a Middlo lover, but aware of his ability, apart from his mouth. Rob has a more laid back approach. Both know the score and how to win...

I think the difference could go down to motivation of the riders, and if Rory's there , that could be the where the advantage could rest.... Lynn will be expecting to win whereas, Poole will want to lay a marker for the play-offs.

Will go for a close 48-42 home win, with hopefully no TR.

Win, Lose or Draw... 2 top Teams, Big Crowd, Sunshine, on one of the best tracks in the World ( at times) All the ingredients are there... Bring it on.

Note. I think Buster will have his work cut out to keep any Moisture in that track. Or will Ronnie Russell be there telling him how it should be done ?
