Well we won but against a poor Scunthorpe side .man of the match KennethHansen mr excitement. Why are we still carring Nicki Barrett he is a waste of time

Have to agree that it's a poor Scunny team , it's a sort of team cobbled together at the last minute that's been accepted into the league and these are the only riders available, it's also proved tonight that releasing Palm Toft instead of David "sicknote" Howe in 2013 was a very big mistake.

I can see both sides running on a tight budget and the other side which has got a be a kick in the nackers when you see 3 assets Birks, Jorgensen and Palm Toft all riding amazingly well for their teams this year.

Now that would turn Scunny's season around with Birks / Jorgensen / Palm Toft joining the fit again Auty and Douglas but hey we can all dream , maybe next year? :drink:

I believe Scunthorpe operate on quite a tight budget, on paper the team looked mediocre but unfortunately injuries have wrecked our season. The poor Scunthorpe side still managed to beat Workington by 16 at the EWR.

most teams will beat workington at there home track by that margin unfortunatly untill we get a fully comitted team

Then think of the assets they let go both Worralls, Nielsen, Olly Greenwood

almost every team can list ex assetts thats gone on to better things

no point having a rider signed as a assett if they dont want to ride for the parent club

unfortunatly this year, we have not seen much of a recognisable Scorpion team due to injuries. This has led to a few home defeats, keeping crowds low, even though the regulars are entertained but maybe not happy with the results. Not a good sign for 2016, in my opinion

is that scunny workington or both

speedway is dying in this country sadly

scunny, to some its all about winning and not being entertained, but i suppose its there money, they are entitled to stop away but its going to stop it for us die hard ones who like to watch anyone one a bike

yep. there will be no more riders in the pl averaging 8.50 or over.

they will have to ply their trade in the el and overseas.

no more working 5/7 days a week and double uppers.

all leagues will have a consistent 1 to 7 riders, week in ,week out and hopefully the fans will return to support their team and not a bucket load of guests and r/r/.

Well, this turned into a more comfortable 3pts win than I was expecting? :o

Scunny definitely struggling this year and it's not looking good especially when you add in the hammering at Newky yesterday, all round a very bad weekend for them?

Noticed Comets old friend R/R was out again, haven't followed this match at all just read the updates this afternoon, where was Wells racing? Didn't look to be missed tho some hefty scoring going on by the remainder, well, most of them anyway, good payday going into yet another spell of inaction, and you wonder why people dont go?

Unless Comets can arrange a fixture for the 18th July, my next meeting wont be til the first Saturday in August, blank weekends and work seeing to that, hoping to see at least some speedway before the season finishes just in case it's our last!! :D

Ricky was racing in Latvia in an SGP Qualifying Semi Final, it was deemed R/R was a better option at home that the guests which were available. We are also attempting to get someone to race against us on the weekend of the 18/19th July but haven't secured anyone yet
