bigcatdiary
Having seen Buster work his track miracles many times, he would've produced a far better raceway than want we had last night. Which begs the question why therefore is the Lynn track these days complete and utter pants. I thought considering the problems with the weather the GP was very good and was certainly one of the better ones so far this year, the racing was very good with passing in most heats. Midland Red
Please give it up Bomber for god's sake You r an embarrassment!!! Oh no he isn't - and he gave Nicki a run for his money Bomber never gives up And never will
Eglese 19
Really enjoyed the GP, considering the weather top marks to all involved in putting on that show. Tai keeps making finals, think he'll probably wake up happy today, even if he did seem less than chuffed when picking his final gate. Great effort from Nicki, he's such a great rider, his antics may or may not be right sometimes but nobody can deny what a top rider he is. PHILIPRISING
GOOD to see Lindback back on the scene. Had a long chat with his 'mentor' who says he has turned his life around and is determined to get back into the SGP full-time and to become World Champion. Brings entertainment and charisma to the series, rather more so than his Swedish colleagues. Edited July 26, 2015 by PHILIPRISING

Antonio has it in him to finish top 5 over a season.l - and do it the fun way too.

OveFundinFan
Two things were very noticeable last night to me. 1) Nicki had five "clean" rides. He gave opponents room on bend 1, didnt fence anyone nor dive under them and take them out. Well done Nicki - keep it up. 2) I noticed how slick the meeting was run with regard to time. There may have been concern about rain coming back, but why cant all meetings be run last night.
waiheke1
Would be interested to know how many track staff were needed to deal with the track covers, as they certainly did their job. Would it be viable to be replicated for league meetings in the UK, or did it take a level of resource only justified by a major event? PHILIPRISING
THEY were fairly basic sheets rather than custom made covers as at Vojens and borrowed from another track. No lack of volunteers at Malilla to help put them down on Friday evening and take them up on Saturday. Fair play to Phil Morris who was one of those getting his hands dirty. But they did the job although it has to be said that the equipment at the stadium and the expertise of those using it was paramount in eventually getting the meeting on only an hour late. But the critical point was that it stopped raining. However, without the covers there would have been no chance of a meeting, the track would have been flooded such was the amount of rain that fell during the afternoon and, as we drove back to Gothenburg this morning, it was again very wet and there had been heavy rain overnight as well so a Sunday start would have been out of the question too. waiheke1
at what time in the day were covers lifted? Just UK meetings often seem to be called due to rain before the meeting, rather than at the time. are these "basic sheets" a viable option for EL fixtures, assuming that rain stops an hour or so before start time, or are they too labour intensive (I know posters on here have reported the ones used in the UK take a couple of hours and a large number of staff to put on and then remove). PHILIPRISING
COVERS lifted after 6pm, took about half an hour. Not sure exactly how many helpers. Something similar should be a viable option for TV meetings at least.

severnsider
Seriously what? Cardiff was boring! Start>first turn>filling up a race card. Only Maciej Janowski tried to use the outside path ONCE to overtake only to find out what he already knew. There was one path clearly seen because of marks left by riders on its surface. Taiski was the only one to actually "perform speedway" on that temporary, rubbish track. You really compare natural tracks to the abomination produced by Olsen? In Malilla's heats no. 9 and no. 10 there was more speedway than in TWO full Cardiff meetings. Jeez. You seem to confuse speedway with drag racing. I would really like to see your programme from Cardiff because if you really did fill it in after the first turn there would be a lot of error compared to the finishing order. Thought they did an fantastic job again at Malilla to get the meeting on after the rain. That is the third time I have been there where it has rained heavily (2005, 2009 and this year) and each time they have sorted the track out to provide a good meeting. They also seem so well organised. Just a pity we are so far behind in that respect. The track was still very wet in places after removing the covers but they dealt with it quickly scraping off all the wet and laying a new surface. After the problems in the first and second bends in the first four races they worked extensively with more equipment during the 1st grading break which sorted the issues for later on. Anyway sunny back home at the moment as after Friday and the last two days in Sweden is the first time I have seen it.

All the best Rob I too would much rather see him in the series than any other Swedish possibility............as long as he really has sorted himself out!!!! It is easy to say he is on the straight and narrow, just as it is easy to say "i'm not on drugs I just work harder than the rest....." We have heard it a thousand times.I thought he couldn't take the pressure at the top,but it seems he has an illness.Whatever it is,maybe full time back in the series will be too much for him?I hope not,but I also hope he never has a bad accident whilst under the influence of alcohol......... RPNY
I think it's harsh on AJ as he's been good value for money for a lot of years. Good meeting Saturday very enjoyable. Since the farce of the 1st 2 rounds it's been a good series IMO. What has happened to KK? Never been a big fan of the guy but it's so sad to see how he's riding now. Because people are not making excuses for him. If you bother to look back you'll see I've condemned Antonios off track antics and his drinking many times. But as nobody come to his defence it quickly dropped away - maybe a lesson for the Ward sycophants?!

Not really forgive one forgive the other move on what is the difference? also i will get slated for this .All this rubbish about Ward getting rid of Middlo as a part of his team helping him is total garbage. Darcy has made mistakes he made them not Middlo, Ward willl always have him as a mate and it is great that he will always look out for him.And to be honest Neil's only mistake is responding to clowns like you on twitter (ect) which is why this forum is not taken seriously by the speedway authorities.
