Is there any other sport that insists on showing one man & his dog in the crowd after every bloody race & one man & his dog when the riders are on the winners rostrum? Oh & Woffinden swigging from his bottle continually during the Danish national anthem, ignorant .......

GIVEN the weather few more than one man and his dog. Just over 7,000 I believe...

The Gorzow GP's only a month or so away, surely Kasprzak will show some form there??

I'm no massive fan of KK, but can't help feeling sad for a guy who in full flight is seriously quick & in my opinion good to watch. However at the moment he looks totally out of his depth & completely lost.

Hope he finds the form that took him to world no.2 soon.

yes Philip but the cameras don't show 7000 people do they, they show Bert & Hilda waving a plastic flash instead of the riders pulling wheelies & celebrating. We are supposed to be appealing to future young fans aren't we?

Quite a bit down on previous GPs there though. Would the weather really make that much difference with pre-sold tickets?

Maybe there was a women's basketball match on nearby... ;-)

I have to admit that I was surprised by the suggestion that "walk up" ticket sales would be hit hard by the weather.

Away from the big indoor stadiums, surely by now the SGP series should be selling most of its tickets in advance. If it is still relying heavily on "walk up" sales, it's doing it wrong.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed the meeting on TV...It was close to, if not the most entertaining GP so far this year, but the competition has been sadly lacking for that title.

PLACES like Malilla reckon on about a 50/50 split of pre-sales, especially if there is a discounted offer on tickets, and walk -ups on the day. It's not like Cardiff, for example, where the vast majority want a seat in a specific area. Apart from one area at Malilla fans are free to go where they want once inside so no real gain in pre-paying.

The Swedish summer has been very wet and it was hardly surprising that given the weather forecast it would be highly likely that many should have shied away from travelling. Under the circumstances the crowd on Saturday was pretty good.
