Kent V Eastbourne 29/6

Recommended Posts

Any reason Jack Smith hasn't raced for the Kings again since the away meeting against Cradley? He has a good pedigree and with a few meetings would probably be outscoring Verge.

Having seen the Eagles at Rye on Saturday I wasn't overly impressed. The Raiders' reserves are obviously stronger than the Kings' but Kent top four is more than capable of outscoring their Eastbourne counterparts at Central Park.

I guess that just highlights why the Eagles are near the top of the table though, they are scoring points all the way down the team.

I thought that Smith was still injured ? I maybe wrong.

You are right that Eagles are not so good away, but Kent will not be able to take a big enough (if any) lead to Eastbourne.

Does Smith want to come down to Kent every week though? Just because he rode in a Kings jacket at Cradley may have just been putting himself in the window for others to see?

Sanderson was interested until the reality of travelling from the Scunthorpe area to Kent every Monday night kicked in and just no showed and vanished off the face of the earth.

Makes luring Basford down from Redcar all the more impressive but how many times will he want to do it?

All ex-Kings riders get good receptions.

To be fair he didn't cock it up at Rye, Hughes was comfortably leading the race by the time BWD fell.

He totally missed the gate though apparently. Kent saving the pain for another day now

Another farcical meeting at central park tonight ,only 12 races compleated before the curfew..With poor David Mason laying on the track for over half an hour with a suspected serious ankle injury and insufficient Ambulance cover to get him to hospital and continue the meeting at the time...Another abysmal referee Cris Durno making some bad decisions all by the way against the Kings And the team taking a considerable beating from a much better team with strength in depth And a rider in Bradley Wilson Dean who looked a cut above the rest The track was rubbish as usual with only one line making passes almost impossible unless someone made a bad mistake... How much more of this will the fans take before finding better things to do on a Monday evening.....

Well said and that was the last straw for me.

Hope Mason is OK.

The referee was a joke - how was Morley chucked for first bend bunching when Bradley Wilson was taking him wide and into the fence ?

Then he throws out Ayres for not being under power after throwing out Andrews ?

Meeting was over as a contest (the whole tie ) after 2 Heats.

Eastbourne are a streak ahead of Kent and the Kings are now an embarrassment.

You can predict nearly every Heat - Kent are that bad.

The track is rubbish - no dirt and no overtaking.

Shanes is the one bright spark but as meeting goes on he suffers.

Such a shame a great venue has a team NOT worth watching.

A big crowd again tonight, who voiced their displeasure at being short changed again. This was the third meeting in the last nine that I have attended that has failed to go the distance at Central Park.

We came away last night feeling disappointed despite the win.

Heats 13 and 15 could have been good races and we missed them. I know there is not much they can do about a curfew and I am sure they fought against such an early one. They certainly cant start much earlier!

What annoyed me more than anything is the way it was announced. I knew they had a curfew but assumed it was 9pm. When they were attending to David I was starting to wonder but when they cracked on with no mention of the curfew, not forewarning, I assumed we would be okay but all of a sudden they announce that's it!

How about an announcement when the racing restarted telling us that it will have to end early? I know the home fans would know but the away fans don't all know.

You are right and just another example of the poor state of Kent Speedway.

It was just - Oh by the way we have reached curfew - goodbye everybody see you next week ???????????????????/

i can't believe they rushed through heat 10 at around 8-28

Why not just abandon the meeting and have a rematch, no ones fault mason was injured and needed to go to hospital, one of those things, stinks of money grabbing AGAIN, Kents last chance of anything this season, and that's the way they do it,

And to make no changes, other than Shepherd quitting is unacceptable,

Hope Mason is ok

I thought Kelsey stepped it up well last night. Don't know what's changed but he rode better than I've ever seen. Seemed very determined. His last heat where he was a distance last and reeled in Verge to 3rd was a very mature effort. If he can do the same at Mildenhall on sunday I'd say he's turned the corner toward being a real contender to go up into the team. Also he looked to be pulling away from Owen in the heat before .

Not sure why i got the hashes in that post???
