Coventry Bees V Belle Vue Friday 26th June

Recommended Posts

I'm glad Harris decided to ride for Coventry last night instead of making the trip to Italy. He was brilliant to watch esp his last to firsts and in the heat 15 when he gated.

I hope he has a good meeting tonight in the SGP qualifiers

Any more news on his testimonial?

I don't think a handful of bees fans on a forum like this constitutes "bees fans" in general. I have seen support for him on other social sites. He's not the first rider to struggle. Holder had a shocking start to season & dropped to no 2 & Zagar/Lindgren are hit & miss. It's the length of Han poor spell that's the concern.

Anyway why would you want to get rid of Josh, I thought he was riding well for you?

No real desire to get rid of josh, but if you could get Hans or bjerre on the same average it would be a mo brainer. Won't happen I know

@OfficialCovBees: Thanks to everyone for a great atmosphere last night - and also big thanks to @Rose822 for standing in so well for Sarj!

I really hope that the rest of the meetings this season can also have that kind of atmosphere as was electric last night when in past weeks it's been very subdued even though winning. Belle Vue fans are often good for friendly banter.

Let's hope the track produces more of the passes like we saw last night. Harris is worth the admission alone on nights like that.

If Zagar could ride other away tracks like he does Brandon then I think Belle Vue would be able to make top 4. Fingers crossed he can produce more like last night

Yes there is, new rule this year, if unsatisfactory start if rider leaves the track they are excluded.

Riders are allowed to leave the track if there has been an incident.

If there has just been an unsatisfactory start and nobody has fallen, then they have to stay on the track.

That means if he had been allowed to leave the track he would have been excluded. Glad bees won it with that brilliant last heat 5-1 rather than with a rider excluded.

Interesting that Andersen is getting a lot of flak but the return of the prodigal son, Super Scotty Nicholls, has hardly had a mention and his 2 point score.

Probably because the "flak" is from Coventry fans and he doesn't ride for them! Worrying for Bees fans because he didn't even look like he was trying beyond the first bend - that's a trait I really can't abide in any rider. If they try their best and get beat well never mind there's next time but not bothering deserves some action by the promotion.

Garrity maybe wild but he's entertaining and as got skill on a bike proved by that pass on Worrall in the race with robbo. Great pass and skill that. Had to be seen to be believed.

The incident with Worrall was wild and lost control passing Worrall. Yes he never touched Worrall but a silly mistake took away Worralls line. I've seen them given either way. So can't complain with that OBVIOUSLY LOL

In heat 13 he just charged into Nicholls and should have been excluded. Granted though I think Nicholls fell far to easy.

Yes Nicholls had words but I know for a fact Nicholls gave him some advice which garrity understood and took on board. Fair play to Jason for that. He's still young and is still learning

Ha ha ha you couldn't have heard properly because from where I was stood he didn't take any notice ftom what Scott said n told him in no uncertain words where to go

Phil isn't talking about straight after heat 13 when both riders adrenalin & tempers were high. He's talking about later in the night. This has also been confirmed by his mechanic

At the end of the day Jason would not need to take on dangerous manoeuvres if our number 1 put the same effort into his racing instead of giving up after the first bend.

I missed the meeting as I was at Goodwood, great to see Greg there. Perfect opportunity to spread the love of our sport.

Looks like I missed a great meeting, it's strange how inconsistent the top riders are this year, Holder, Zegar, Hans, Lindgren etc, they have all had inconsistant meetings to say the least, even down to Bjerre, Cook, Batch and now Scott's form has dropped.

The problem is you drop a rider and are not guaranteed a better replacement. In regards to Scott's incident I would have thought that he was having a bad night, they touched and in most cases they are pulled back with all 4 back in ( I think it was first bend incident) Scott's 37 now, of course him form will drop. Not everybody is like Hancock, sadly every rider declines, you get the odd flash of what used to be but overall I think Scott's doing a steady job. Unlike other riders he always gives his best, you won't see him pull up, tootle round at the back. Even if it's for a point he battles to the very end so maybe he's not scoring the points he once was and the haters have there opinion as they are very much entitled to but for me I enjoy watching Nicholls race, doesn't take the pee out of fans hard earned cash.
