Coventry Bees V Belle Vue Friday 26th June

Recommended Posts

Not if both teams are at full strength & Hans back on form. Think they would go for a team that hasn't beat them convincingly at home.

Are you so deluded to think Andersen is going to start banging in top performances in?? 5 race wins at Brandon in EL all season???

I won't be holding my breath for Andersen as he's never been all that at Coventry, even when he's supposedly "On Form"

In the past when visiting with other teams or during Brandonapolis he has been one of the best riders at Brandon. Had a brilliant meeting against Leicester at the start of the season.

It is very concerning how long it is taking to get the problems sorted. Surely somebody in his pit crew must have some idea what the problem is

I noticed last night & Monday that even though Worrall was the strongest reserve & Stefan was struggling to score, Lemon still gave him his 4 rides instead of replacing him with Worrall in one. Very surprised.

It's the case almost every meeting and has cost the aces points this season.

So we have to go back to a challenge meeting in March for his last worthwhile contribution at home.

I'm glad Harris decided to ride for Coventry last night instead of making the trip to Italy. He was brilliant to watch esp his last to firsts and in the heat 15 when he gated.

I hope he has a good meeting tonight in the SGP qualifiers

Any more news on his testimonial?

If hans's average drops to say 6.5, could the aces fit him in to replace josh g? Given that bees fans don't want him?

I don't think a handful of bees fans on a forum like this constitutes "bees fans" in general. I have seen support for him on other social sites. He's not the first rider to struggle. Holder had a shocking start to season & dropped to no 2 & Zagar/Lindgren are hit & miss. It's the length of Han poor spell that's the concern.

Anyway why would you want to get rid of Josh, I thought he was riding well for you?

Can say the same for Coventry last night, didn't replace Rose with Garrity when the score was level.

Yes did wonder the same. Maybe it was because Rose had just had good rides but Garrity much stronger so would have still put him in.

You can knock riders like Garrity and Nicki all you like, but they are box office. Perhaps if there were more riders like them, the sport would not be playing to practically empty stadiums week in and out.

The Bees fans love Garrity because he's an all action rider who gives his all in every race. He's great with the fans too. One of the most popular riders who has worn the Fighting Bee for years. He was getting stick tonight off the Belle Vue fans because they are still sore we were able to swipe him from under their noses on the ftr list at the start of last season.

If he rode for Poole, you'd love him too.

If that's the kind of thing you like go to stock car racing. My idea of speedway is 4 guys racing each other not who can fence who or who can wipe who out. We've had enough injuries don't you think. Also I think Garrity should have a little more respect he's clearly not in control when he's racing it's all me myself I,and bo**ks to you

But at least our team manager gave Garrity an extra ride for our worst rider by far - Andersen.

Credit where due, Lewis Rose rode well and did better than we thought he would.

To be honest think it was our reserves that were so poor that made Rose look good, not seen Worrall so slow all season, didn't get going till heat 12 Edited by Rob B

Total over-reaction from you. My post never advocated riders going out in each heat to fence each other. And I don't think there is any rider who approaches a race with that mentality anyway. But yes, I do like tough, committed riders who won't be muscled around by other riders. I like riders who are are prepared to dish a little muscle out whilst they are riding and, likewise are prepared to take it to. It's the nature of our sport. If you don't like that, why don't you go and watch dominoes.

Would I advocate any rider deliberately going out to put another rider through the fence? Of course not.

I suspect most of those who criticise Jason only see him race on Sky or the few times he visits their track. Anyone would think he was fencing riders and falling off in every race. No-one would deny Jason is a hard rider, and still a little raw, so he makes mistakes, but he's a lot more controlled this year than last. Havvy has clearly been working with him. He's not hanging off the bike as much as he used to and his right foot is on the peg a lot more. He's much more consistently fast, controlled and smooth as a result. The improvement in him in 18 months has been huge. I suspect this is because he has a huge desire to improve, a winning mentality and will take advice from others.

Clearly he's not the finished article yet, hence why he's a ftr rider, but his positive attitude, commitment to the cause and approach with the fans make me wish the sport had a few more Jason Garrity's.

In terms of his races with Nicholls and Worrall last night, both calls could have gone either way. The Nicholls incident in particular was nothing that you would not see Nicholls himself (who is known for putting himself about a bit) doing.

I would swap Hans for Josh G any day of the week, he's always been good around Brandon more than I can say for Hans

If the Management think Hans will find his confidence again then we will be in for a long wait.

I remember Horton saying last season that he wanted a proper No.1 this year and we still ended up with him!

Won't win anything this year with this team, use the available points we have to make us title contenders

i would say Garrity is reckless rather than dirty. Check out some of the moves Newman pulls before preaching about others

Kyle is not a dirty rider, clearly you watch him every week, not. Garrity is reknown for it, and one day it will come back to huant him.

Yes there is, new rule this year, if unsatisfactory start if rider leaves the track they are excluded.

Shame they didn't open the gate then. No 2 minutes time allowance was put on for the re-run ~ I think the referee must have nodded off.

SARJ COLLECTION TOTAL

Saturday June 27, 2015

A COLLECTION for Coventry's James Sarjeant at the meeting on Friday raised a terrific total of £627.62

This gave James a very pleasant surprise and both he and the club would very much like to thank supporters for their generosity.

The point is at the moment Hans Andersen is out of form everywhere even when riding in an individual meeting last weekend he scored 1 from 5 rides . WHY WOULD ANY OTHER CLUB WANT HIM ?? I have no doubt in my mind he will come back into top form ( may be a few Bees fans eating humble pie come October ) I'm sure some Aces supporters were a bit peeded off with Scotty last night too !! Bees will stick with Andersen I reckon . If he leaves Brandon it will be his decision IMO ..
