mdmc82
Thursday June 25, 2015 ELITE League leaders Coventry are looking to continue an unbeaten sequence against play-off chasing Belle Vue when the sides meet at Brandon on Friday (7.30pm). The Buildbase Bees have six wins and a draw from their last seven encounters with the Aces, the shared result coming in Mondays 45-45 thriller in Manchester. And Bees will be on their guard for the return fixture as the Aces have produced some notable results on the road this season including a draw at Poole, a narrow win at Lakeside, and a thumping 53-39 triumph at Swindon last Thursday. Bees once again go into the meeting without James Sarjeant, who still has discomfort in his arm after his crash at Poole last week, and he is continuing physiotherapy and swimming with a view to returning in Mondays away match at Wolverhampton. Meanwhile skipper Chris Harris once again rides for the club 24 hours before a Grand Prix qualifier, as he heads out to Italian venue Terenzano after Fridays meeting. The Aces are led by former Bees skipper Scott Nicholls and Grand Prix star Matej Zagar, who can take an extra outing as the visitors operate the rider-replacement facility for the unavailable Craig Cook. And another ex-Coventry man Aaron Summers comes in to replace Max Fricke who is already on his way to Italy for the GP qualifier. Bees manager Gary Havelock said: Aaron certainly knows the fastest way around Brandon, and the Leicester match last week proved that you cant really take anybody for granted. It will be tough, but we just need to keep winning at home. We have to try and keep the pressure on Poole for finishing top, because if we start losing a couple of matches it will become much easier for them to pull away. If we keep winning at home and keep picking up points away, theyve got to do the same. BUILDBASE BEES (from): Hans Andersen, Jason Garrity, Chris Harris, Danny King, Joonas Kylmakorpi, Stuart Robson, Guest TBC. BELLE VUE (from): Craig Cook R/R, Josh Grajczonek, Scott Nicholls, Stefan Nielsen, Aaron Summers, Steve Worrall, Matej Zagar. It's great to see Harris riding for the bees and then travelling after the meeting. The result of this meeting could depend a lot on who the guest is for Sarjeant. There's not many options with Bates, Rose, Lambert already riding. Edited June 25, 2015 by mdmc82
Aces51
Summers isn't in the same class as Fricke but with his Brandon experience could be an adequate replacement if he has a good night. R/R for Cook should even out with Zagar, Grajczonek and Summers all able to take a ride. If Zagar rides as he is capable of doing then we might claim a point. But even without Sarjeant the Bees reserves should outscore their opposite numbers and do enough for a Bees win. How can you predict the bees reserves should out score belle Vue's when we don't know who one of them is. Last time he was out for a week we had to use Connor Mountain so let's wait and see who is is first 😁

Woz01
Wasn't sure if that applied to draft riders, oh well. Is Starke available if not i'd give Dan Greenwood a go.
markyb
Could this be the last home meeting for Hans before he ignites his wonderous return to the Robins and we are spoilt by half a season of Mr Darcy Ward - not fooled by the smoke screen of the Coventry promotion saying they not interested - reckon the majority of fans would appreciate a true top class rider being seen at Brandon - nowhere near as good as the season when we had Rico, Hamill, Hancock AND Jonsson, but a chance to reinvent enthuasiasm of speedway supporters of the past. Unfortunately, being realistic, it aint gonna happen. Coventry NEED Darcy more than Darcy needs Coventry. So he has been a naughty boy having too many pints of Stella Artois, and not the Coke {sic} that Michael Lee was done for, but in my book michael lee was a legend on a bike despite his mis-givings. Darcy ward could still achive that same status.

Bees_Man
What's he like? Sorry not that familiar with some of the reserves?
mdmc82
When he rode for King's Lynn last year he was really good. However he is really struggling for form this year (rides for Swindon) He won't score the points Sarjeant would but hopefully he can challenge Stefan in the races they are in together. In the two home meetings he rode against Belle Vue, he scored 1 and 0 so could be a tough night for him. We are going to need our top 5 firing if we are to get the win as Belle Vue's top 4 all ride our track very well.
Fozzie4388
When he rode for Kings Lynn he looked really good? Are you thinking of the NL Meetings His EL score from last season in the A Fixture Lewis Rose 0, 0, 0 = 0 and he didn't ride the B Fixture Tom Stokes rode instead In the NL Meeting for KLYS vs Storm he got 2, 3, 3, 3, 2 = 13 The only person he lost to was his Opposite number 7 in this meeting Stefan Nielsen Twice. mdmc82
When he rode for Kings Lynn he looked really good? Are you thinking of the NL Meetings No I'm thinking of his season with King's Lynn (never mentioned a particular meeting) However as you mentioned he did at times struggle on our track & to beat Stefan which is why Sarjeant being missing makes this fixture a lot harder for the bees. However it is good of him to guest. Fingers crossed he has a good meeting Edited June 25, 2015 by mdmc82
Gemini
.....markyb......Could this be the last home meeting for Hans before he ignites his wonderous return to the Robins and we are spoilt by half a season of Mr Darcy Ward....... I think you've got some of the words in the wrong order? "And half the season is spoilt by having Mr Darcy Ward." There....that's better. Doesn't really matter anyway because there is not a cat in hell's chance of him riding for the Bees thank goodness.
