Rye House V Eastbourne

parked up next to the canal in the sunshine , spot of food , strolled in to see eagles fans on

all 3 sides of the track, watched 13 riders giving their all not knowing what was going to happen next , after only pinching a point in his first ride when a rider fell infront then falling himself in his second seeing Kelsey having to keep waving to the crowd as he was cheered all the way back to the pits was special. then the day went a bit pear shaped, some knob closed off the M25 so we didn't hit the M4 till almost 12 and then only 5 miles from home the M4 was also close. did it spoil the day, not a bit.

Merely looking for reaction Ian, only one bite though haha!

Was a good meeting, both sides threw points away with falls, mechanical issues etc. Wilson-Dean looks good.

Was expecting more from the Eagles reserves to be honest, Wood picked up a fair few points through riders not finishing/falling although he looks comfortable on the bike which will always result in points at this level. Think he'll develop into a good rider.

Kyle Hughes was very good last night, starting to look something like the rider he was when he was a Rocket again, if he carries on this form for the next month or so I'd be tempted to have a look at him in the Rockets team again. He'd score points at home in the PL.

Kyle says he's not allowed PL guest bookings. He can't double up as he's over 25 so he'd have to do PL only but on his old average.

Nice close match that could have gone either way. Generally a good meeting, just a shame Eastbourne could not sneak the win.

Does anyone know what went on with the Clerk of the course, well I think it was him, the guy with the blue shirt and tie seeing the riders on and of the track etc?

There seemed to be some arm waving and heated words at track side before he removed his tie and threw it on the deck and walked off. The announcer said that there would be a small break in the racing and the next thing the ref seems to be chatting with him before he returns and collects his tie to put back on.

Felt a bit sorry for him as later in the meeting he seemed to get 'Accidentally' soaked by the guy watering the track.

Sure it wasn't the demented tractor driver that had been sacked from driving the tractor protesting to get his job back?

Seems then that Dry Hose have sorted out the watering problems #DesertStorm

you could have fooled me, I got covered in dust sitting in the new stand on the first and second bend. For the record, it was uncle Len who soaked the clerk of the course, it's a shame he didn't put more water on the track instead!

Couldn't agree more. Kyle looked almost back to his best but consistency was never his strong point. Considering Dan Greenwood hasn't turned out as hoped he would surely be worth a punt

I was sat there as well, second row from front. Were you the guys sat towards the top on the left? The stand certainly had a good covering of dust by the end of the meeting didn't it? Great place for viewing though.

yes that was us. The dust certainly spoiled the meeting for me, just as it did at eastbourne the previous Sunday.

Yeh same with us, We were sat about one row from the front of that stand. I do have a bit more sympathy regarding track watering since I have been helping Martin with the new one at Arlington (a work in progress). It does seem a fine art an so easy to over water!

We could have just moved I guess but I have a habit of plonking my arse down somewhere and staying put!

Kyles problem is lack of decent equipment I'm led to believe. He could certainly do a job at reserve in on decent machinery. Is say he'd bring us more points than Dan Greenwood

We were on the start line terrace. Didn't notice much dust
