Fromafar
Why are the Glasgow reserves missing, is it the World U21s? If that is the case then Alex Edberg should pick up more points this week. The way Palovaara and Berge were going last night at Peterborough I think they would have a massive advantage at reserve if they are here. Its not the u/21 the first round is july11 .Berge will be the long track . Normski
Really looking forward to this meeting shame that 3 of the 4 reserves are missing through other engagements. R/R for Berwick going to an interesting one as to who takes Claus last ride as we don't have Richard Hall to rely on leaving Garcia,Edberg or Carr to fill it. Probably depends on how the meeting is going. If your leading comfortably they might just give Garcia an extra ride to learn the track. If its tight then whoever is going best on the night will be in, id probably be expecting it to be Edberg.

Paulco
Ellis Perks and Matt Williamson are Glasgow's reserve pairing . Perks was completely out his depth when he guested for us in the League Cup meeting , but we shall see . Lawson , Summers and especially Morris will have to bring their "A" game . This is a meeting we don't want Nick taking three rides to get going as has been the case recently

The last r/r comes early, in Heat 12. Wouldn't think they'd risk the weakest link at that point unless there was about a twenty-point gap! Better use Edberg or Garcia in Heat 3 against Howe and Spud and shuffle the bigger trio into the other races.

He keeps getting a dead arm and then pain.

penchev
Guests and rider replacement is not ideal, but what is the answer? Poles not allowed in premier league The visa issues with Aussies Amount of injuries Other commitments for riders ie fim events etc Answers on the back of a postcard

Bandit59
What was looking a very good meeting now has the look of an average one was going to bring a mate for the first time decided against it [with all the changes to much to explain].Hope they fit tractor racing in when someone has two rides on the trot or we could be in for along night. Possibly go to six man teams next season to reduce the number of riders needed? Long term solution (speedway doesn't do long term thinking) get more young riders involved (eg NJL) but these boys will take a few years to come through. Until then...?
Fromafar
This situation has been brewing for a few seasons now IMO.talk among true speedway fans the last few seasons was "surely the EL can't go on like this" but it has, their solution to sort it out ,the mess has impacted on to the PL now and is bring it down in credibility.Original Second Division start there were a fair percentage of young riders came into the sport just like the NL now, while lots were not expieranced they learned by riding in teams.I think the answer is to merge as many young riders from NL into PL to make up shortage of riders,Put stricter rules for under achieving foreign riders and don't use them to shore up teams just because they have an average that fits the points limit.Averages really have to be looked at and not made such an important part of speedway(it's on the track entertainment that counts).Riders averages can be false on a lot of occasions giving how they are obtained on track.Think we have to take a step back regarding standard of riders that we use to progress the sport forward again.Imo there are a number of expieranced riders "massage" their averages to make sure their average doesn't hinder their chance of aTeam place the next season. What you see now is " middle order men" being the sought after riders and costing the Promotions too much money.Thats my view for what it's worth. screm
The sun has certainly got his hat on in Berwick this morning, and happily it is forecast to stay that way virtually all day. Smallest chance of getting an odd shower this afternoon but it looks like sunshine and warm temperatures all the way today.
