Exeter Falcons V Cradley Heathens 26/06/2015

Recommended Posts

Well, first off, I had no idea where to put this fixture, not really anywhere for teams with no homes, So as Somerset are the hosts, this is where its going

Absolutely fantastic for Falcons fans to have a team to support, even if it is for just 1 night, and it has to be said a massive thanks to all at Somerset for having us

Obviously Exeter have no riders, so a team of guests have been chosen, with the exiting Bradley Wilson Dean at number 1, the rest of the team is made up of Danny Halsey, Lee Payne, Luke Chessell, Connor Coles, Tyler Govier and Harvey Banks.

Cradley have Ben Morley riding at number 1, with Matt Williamson ,Aaron Mogridge ,rider replacement - Nathan Greaves, Ellis Perks, Adam Sheppard + A.N other

I know the Falcons are running coaches from Exeter for the meeting, and hopefully there will be others making the journey, I will be driving down from Kent should work commitments allow

Hopefully a decent crowd come out in support, Cradley fans travel in their numbers so fingers crossed for a great and safe meeting

You honestly don't appreciate how great it feels to be starting a thread about an upcoming Falcons fixture, and really hope this is the start of something, but for the moment, Lets enjoy what should be a great meeting between 2 great names in the sport.

perhaps the nl riders in the line ups should have given you a clue as to where to put this topic. too late its done now. lol.

For goodness lighten up, a supporter just being chuffed Exeter are having a meeting is it that much of a problem you have to post and tell him he is in the wrong section.

Cradley............. PLEASE do not use rider replacement, there must be a rider somewhere keen to get a ride!

With Bradley Wilson Dean Exiting that's all we need?

Full commitment needed from both teams & management to make this a success.

You know, I wish people would come on here more and pick me up on a spelling mistake or the fact its in the wrong section (although technically there is no correct place) rather than comment on how great it is to see a defunct team get back on track

To be honest I'm not sure how many Cradley fans will be at this one, this is the third meeting in a week including a trip to Mildenhall on Sunday and the team is essentially a Cradley select due to availability/injury (though I agree it is a real shame we couldn't find a rider to fill Nathan's space rather than use R/R)

I haven't been to Somerset for some years though, and I had planned to take the kids at some point so it's a definite maybe for me at present.

Really good to see the Exeter name back on track in a full meeting - fingers crossed it is a step towards a full return

The Met Office website for tomorrow says some rain between 10am and midday, and maybe a shower or two again around 3pm, but by 6pm it gives glorious sunshine right through the evening ( well, until it gets dark at least ! ).

So, it is looking ok for the first 15-heat meeting for Exeter Falcons since 2005.

OK, I know it is only a Select side, but it will still be a night to remember !! :t:

My bags are packed,on my way first thing in the morning, B & B booked, a day at the seaside, speedway in the evening. What can go wrong?

(The weather). fingers crossed i've packed my speedo's :D:rofl::drink: .

at 5pm it was wellies & brolly. at 6pm the sky was clearing, at 7pm they were watering the track. The British weather  still couldn't spoil things.Good evening had by all, good luck Exeter with finding that piece of land we are all looking for.

Nobody knew just how this meeting would go except that Rob Doran and Alan Spencer were taking a big risk just putting it on. But after a wet afternoon and worries over traffic chaos on the M5 it turned into a glorious evening, a 700 plus crowd, and plenty of fantastic racing. The Heathens put on a terrific show, but this was all about the Falcons' fans coming together after ten years and proving that there is still a big demand for speedway in Exeter.

Thank you Cradley for showing us what can be achieved. The Falcons are coming back!

Great pictures Ian.
