Aces51
It's a mystery how the likes of Auty and Boxall got selected this year but not Richie.
E I Addio
Isn't that what Auty did? I'd like to see Richie in it if he wants. During this transition period there will be anomalies like this but hopefully it will settle and riders of the class and ability of the likes of the Worralls will be the benchmark for draft riders in the future. We might even be able to dispense with protected heats when the transition is complete. Looking at Richie guesting for Leicester tonight he is far too good for EDR. He needs to be in an EL 1-5 to improve. Hopefully he will get a full EL place next year which is where he needs to be , not stuck in protected heats. thehammer
Could it be Richie is part of a move where the top EDR's have to be in the 1-5.... ie Garrity, Newman, Auty, meaning each team has 3 Brits minimum?
Aces51
Belle Vue have already said they intend to use him next year at the new stadium. Could be the best EDR, now how do we get Steve into tier 2?

ouch
Richie would never be allowed to ride EDR for the Aces. Another team, maybe?

But then again we could pretend to be Poole or Coventry and then we might get away with it.
g13webb
July is now with us, and as always, could turn out to be the most important month of the season. This is the month when teams step up a gear and strive forward in their quest of a top 4 finish. and implement those changes that each have been taking about....... All the teams with any intended changes will have to be finalised, because as from 1st August it will be too late... The obvious speculation regarding Darcy centres around Swindon but who else has to go to make way. Who else will be making big changes ??? .... E I Addio
Other way round, the the strength of the draft needs to be improved and then protected heats (for the no.6 at least) dispensed with. The ideal progression for a British speedway rider in the future will be NL, PL, Draft, EL. The object of the exercise was to save money. If you don't have protected heats and reserves are expected to go against heatleaders then its no good expecting them to ride for £40 per point. . Not disagreeing in principle with what you say but finances rule it out.
