Sounds like a porn film! :P:D

Carry on Scunthorpe! oo-er missus you don't want to miss this. A sting in the tail "fnar fnar"

I agree with ruffdiamond EIS002 looks like he has been drinking when he made that post saying he thinks the Scorpions will win. If the diamonds get beat on Sunday I will buy a hat and eat it.

While I'd be perfectly happy if Scunny lose by 15 points on Sunday, I'm just quoting Dantodan's post, so that if the Scorpions do pull off a surprise on the night, then he goes along with the pledge to eat his hat. ;)

All the best

Rob

A superb action by the Newcastle Promotion:

"NEWCASTLE are to recognise national Armed Forces Day this weekend by offering free admission to all servicemen and women for Sunday’s home match against Scunthorpe".

In these days of International difficulties - it is great to see somebody recognising the Service to our Country by all of the Armed Forces.

Information taken from the SCB Website.

Although i would like Scunny to score enough points to win on aggregate and progress to the next round i feel that Newcastle will probably win around 55-35 with Jorgensen scoring the bulk of the points for Scunny but this is speedway so fingers crossed.

Rain did not turn up during the night, but the forecast sunny and warm conditions have. Looks to be a scorching 20 degrees, and the track is brilliant for some decent racing. Lets get behind the team and hope to see then go through to another strong draw in the next round.

This meeting really turned on the second bend, lap 2 in heat 1. Jorgensen out in front and looking quick with Pijper in behind, the Diamonds not threatening and a 1-5 looking a formality. Then Jorgensen packs up, the unlucky Pijper spins round taking avoiding action and then packs up himself. A 1-5 turned into an incredibly fortunate 5-0. Wilson and Lunna then gate on a 5-1 in heat 2 but make a hash of it and are picked off for a 5-1. Wilkinson then falls under no pressure while leading heat 3, another 5-1 awarded to the Diamonds. Newcastle amazingly lead 15-2 with most of the deficit wiped out when it could easily have been 13-5 to Scunny and a lead stretched to 24 points.

After that it was pretty much one way traffic, Jorgensen presumably not recovering from his mechanical problems and failing to score, while Pijper and Wilkinson both spoiled good heat wins with ineffective rides in between.

Good all round performance from the Diamonds who took full advantage of Scunthorpe's problems. Henry has not convinced me this season but the others all look in decent form. Rosen in particular rode well tonight.

Despite the one sided nature of the meeting there was some good racing and nice to see it flow well and all done and dusted by 8.20pm. :approve:

What a complete embarrassment this Scunthorpe team is, as a previous poster stated reminiscent of the old Quibell Park days , the score was far worse than i predicted and Jorgensen was obviously a crap guest, well Scunthorpe's season is now over and with a 3 week gap in home activity i just wonder how many supporters will turn up for the next home meeting.
