Wow - old school - I'm impressed.

One of these beauties? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-RETRO-SONY-WALKMAN-WM-FX163-RADIO-CASSETTE-PLAYER-HEADPHONES-MEGA-BASS-/261938624017

Hope you didn't pay more than £7.

Inspired me to go and look out my old cassettes.

Damn - someone must have binned them all when we moved house 27 years ago.

Yet another thread with 'supporters' moaning mainly because there wasn't much passing! Said it before, a speedway race doesn't need passing to be any good. I can understand wolves fans feeling let down, they watch unbelievable speedway at the world's best track and multiple highly skilled passing maneuvers by the likes of fast Freddie every week. It must have been tedious in the extreme for you lot.

As for the meeting, I'd agree with Tatum even though he was just doing his job and probably over egging it a bit. There was something to talk about in virtually every race with riders going through the tapes, falling off, nearly falling off, getting passed (eh? did someone get passed lol!), double tr bollox, fast times, elbow to elbow without clashing, elbow to elbow and clashing (Kurtz was unlucky but should have backed off). Compared to what's been served up on sky this season it was okay.

Even watching the kids in the background just reminded me of a kid who used to run around a lot with his mate at speedway, he has hardly missed a meeting in over 40 years since although he doesn't do much running around now!

I'm not suggesting we will see much of this meeting again in the future, that wasn't why I replied to your post but calling Tatum an arse for what he said isn't daft, I toned it down, it's purile and moronic.

Love the sarcasm. Its a crying shame that since the start of 2011 the speedway at Monmore has been nothing short of average. Oh how we pine for the days of Freddie Lingren using every inch of the Monmore track rounding everyone up. Sadly resigned to history.

Compared to SOME of the meetings shown on sky, i thought it was very entertaining. For me the stand out rider for style & track craft was Brady Kurtz

You mean for the way he wrapped the tapes round his neck - did a good job of that I must say - or when he wiped out the poor Frenchman?

I loved the way Summers kept making mini jump starts (to lure others into breaking the tapes?) and then blasting away in front when the tapes did go up.

That was consistently stylish.

Brady Kurtz was sensational, shame he's going to riding for Poole for years and years.

I enjoyed the meeting, and well done Panthers promotion for their efforts in bringing in NEW fans.

Some 'regulars' need to understand that their support is not enough for a speedway team survive, Panthers fans above all should appreciate this. There simply aren't enough regulars anymore.

The bare minimum a promotion should do is produce a team/meeting which satisfies its hardcore fans but they need to focus their attention on gaining new fans in order to prosper.

Just hard riding imo, tell me a more styleish rider last night than Kurtz, arguably the most improved rider this year!

When argument lost, resort to personal insults.

Yes B Kurtz has a decent style.

But the bottom line is that he scored 6 points from 5 attempts on the back of 6 points from 4 attempts at Ipswich last week.

Both meetings featured a spectacular tapes demolition in his first races.

Sommelier the bloke is quality and if he averages well over nine what a achievement that is in his second year, Mike Lee did it as a 16 year old novice being no 1 reaching the tough old NLRC that now will never happen.I think he a certain GP rider, I would still have Fricke in front of him with Holder just behind my opinion only the Aussies have a great future with promising riders coming through. it is what we think it is as we witness great racing for the vast majority of meetings. last night the track was a bit too grippy with only one racing line which isn't the norm, just a shame that it was the sky meeting. I really don't believe I could watch speedway week in week out at most other tracks in the country if Peterborough ever close as the racing I've witnessed from most tracks in this country just doesn't compare.

Yep, Fricke & i know he is much older, but Dakota North having a good season, with Morris pushing on this year, the Aussie's looking good!
