Belle Vue V Coventry Bees Monday 22nd June

Recommended Posts

I have been told Darcy is coming to the Bees

Promotor might be trying to throw the scent off Swindon. Ward has never made it any secret how much he dislikes Coventry and our track. A lot of the fans are very vocal about their opinion of ward as well. Personally think Coventry is the last track Ward will be at

Unbelievable, heat 15 Grajczonek does all the hard work passing Andersen thought we had the win and then Zagar goes gets passed by Harris!

We were very lucky to get a point though, we would have been thrashed if not for Garrity's dodgy bike.

Am i reading right,Poole's worst rider is Coventry's joint third best points scorer!! Scored more than Garrity!!

Unlucky for us that Garrity had his bike break down in first 3 rides 😁 came good once he used Harris bike.

Starke had a good night for the bees.

Should all be clear within a week I guess.

Team manager Alun Rossiter admitted the situation was a frustrating one, and that it could ultimately lead to one of his other four, top five, riders harshly losing their team place as the club bid to solve their issues.

A move for Darcy Ward remains a significant option, with the Aussie free from suspension from June 28 following his ban for failing an alcohol test, with the Robins looking at all the options available to them to solve their team problems.

Interesting night. Got there early because I had a pit pass I won at a quiz night a few weeks ago (I won a season ticket as well, second prize was two season tickets lol!). First time I'd been in the pits for several years and it was a genuinely interesting experience. So thanks to Julie and Steve Casey.

When I took up my usual place I recognised a chap called Steve Ridgway. He's an artist who has produced several speedway drawings, in fact I've got two of his, 'The Heat 13 Cavalry' and 'Simmo and PC', he also supports the same local football team as me so we had a good old chat. He told me it was his first visit to Belle Vue for quite some time. He still sells prints from his website http://www.another-fine-scrape.co.uk/index.html and a friend sells them for him from a stall in Stockport Market Hall. Well worth a look.

The meeting was close, helped by Garrity wasting his last meeting at the track he used to ride as a mascot. Ironically I'd been telling Steve how good Garrity was going to be which was probably the kiss of death. The other irony was that we were still outscored at reserve by what should have been a match winning score from the guest.

Another feature of my pit pass was a visit to the centre green for a couple of races. Again the first time for a while, and it was a bit of a surprise at how dry the track was after quite a lot of rain earlier in the day.

The scores were nip and tuck and it looked like it would be another last heat decider although we were level going into heat 15 this time. When Zagar gated and Grajczonek passed Andersen, who missed the gate for the first time, it looked like another 2 point win but Zagar let Harris through and that was that.

Not a bad night all told.

Don't think Zagar "let" HArris through. Fine ride by Bomber - give credit where it's due.

A decent result in the end, would of been out of sight if Garrity had scored his normal points, but no blame there as he has won us numerous meetings, well done to Hans on a much improved performance just a shame about his last ride.

Great to see Harris lending Garrity his bike for the latter heats. Jason said his engine had completely gone which is why there was zero speed in the bike.

It's a shame to not get 4pts but to get a draw when your top reserve has 3 bike retirements says something about our team 👍🏻

With a decent number 1 BV would have won. Have to feel sorry for Garrity. I think he scored a max last time ? Apart from Zagar and Cook, the BV team did quite well against a re vitalised Bomber, and a reborn Anderson. If the Bees can keep this team going, and sort out Garrity's bikes they could seriously challenge Poole
