Aces51
There has been heavy rain. Due to stop at lunch time but with more light rain about 5pm then ok for rest of evening. No sign of any sunshine and a maximum of 15c so lap of the gods really. Hopefully, will dry out sufficiently and at least Colin Meredith can get on the track to do his best, unlike last week when he couldn't get access until after the dogs at 6pm. SteveLyric2
Paul Starke guests in place of James Sarjeant With Starke due at BV next Monday for Poole, isn't there something about an 8-day rule, or doesn't that apply for EDRs?
SCB
With Starke due at BV next Monday for Poole, isn't there something about an 8-day rule, or doesn't that apply for EDRs? 8 day rule says you can't guest twice. In an 8 team league an 8 day rule like it used to be would rule out half the league - your own team, the opposition, last weeks opposition, next weeks opposition. Thats 4 teams out of 8. You'd never be able to find a guest!

He can't guest twice in a 8 day period and he won't be. He will be guesting tonight & then riding for his own team next Monday.
Dave J
With rain forecast for the earlier part of the day, let's hope the track is sorted after last weeks problems. But the Sky TV cameras aren't at Belle Vue so it will probably be called off before heat 10, if it goes ahead.
Game On
Coventry Bees keep faith with Hans Anderson for Belle Vue showdown Coventry Bees visit one of their favourite away venues tonight – and any points gained at Belle Vue will put them back on top of the Elite League table. The Buildbase Bees have won emphatically on each of their last three trips to Manchester, and have several riders with proven records of success there. But Belle Vue have improved substantially since the Bees did the double over the Aces in mid-April, and a win at Swindon last week put them into a position whereby they are strong favourites for a play-off place. However, they then suffered a disappointing defeat at Leicester on Saturday where enigmatic No.1 Matej Zagar scored just one point. Zagar’s problems are of no concern to Coventry, but their own top man Hans Andersen remains short of both points and speed – and this away match may come at a good time for the Dane, who usually flies around Kirkmanshulme Lane and has the backing of club bosses. Promoter Mick Horton said: “We got together for lunch on Friday and talked it through, and Hans seems to be lacking mainly with his set-ups at the moment. He’s trying engines and I think he’s getting confused by it all – and of course, when he’s not getting the right set-up and not getting the points he knows he should be getting, it’s getting to his head. “It will come right for him. He will get a meeting, and it might be at Belle Vue, where he’ll find something and then we move on. “We have a great record up there, but this is going to be a totally different meeting because of their form at the moment. I certainly hope we can do well there but it will be a tough one, as it will be when they come back here on Friday. It’s two cracking meetings in store.” Bees remain without reserve James Sarjeant, who spent a brief period back in hospital at the end of the week after his crash at Poole on Wednesday. Sarjeant underwent further X-rays having been taken ill on Thursday night but again they came back with no broken bones, and a period of rest appears the only course of action. Poole’s Paul Starke stands in tonight - Bees at least have a clear choice of all available Tier 2 reserves as Sarjeant is at the top of the list - and there will be further assessment this week before they finalise plans for Friday’s home match against the Aces. mdmc82
Coventry Bees Twitter account has uploaded a photo of the track. Looks a bit patchy but not sure if that's how it usually is. Maybe somebody there can give us a better idea.
