TMW
This Sunday Speedway returns to Hi-Edge for the first time for a month and its the visit of near neighbours the Stoke Potters that has the tongues wagging. Team manager Jason Pipe is under no illusion that the men from the Potteries will offer a stern test as they arrive in the Dales on the back of two victories We must not take the Potters too lightly. They are on a high at the moment having won their last 2 meetings. The last of them being an away win at Kent. We may have won recently at Stoke, but don't underestimate them, as they'll be coming here hell bent on looking for revenge! I'm sure my good friend Malcolm Vasey will have his boys fired up for this one! It's up to us to be up for it from the start. The threat from the visitors may come from an unexpected source according to the Buxton Boss I'm sure a close eye will be kept on Buxton old boy Paul Burnett, who could be a trump card at reserve for the Potters, having ridden for me in the past at this level, I know what he's capable of! Whatever happens on Sunday I'm sure it's going to be a close fought meeting and let's hope us Hitmen still have the bragging rights over our local rivals come 5pm on Sunday evening! Pipe is keen that his charges begin well on Sunday having been slow starters in both the previous two home fixtures In our first 2 home meetings this season we have been losing after the first 4 heats. This is just not good enough and it has to change quickly. We are making it hard for ourselves. Also in our first home meeting against Coventry, we took the chequered flag only 4 times and against Mildenhall it was only slightly better on 6 occasions. We need to be winning more races. Our riders seriously need to look at their gating and need to focus more on their starts. A defeat on Sunday would not be acceptable. I'm not even thinking that, because I know my boys are capable of collecting all 3 points. Adam Extance has been struggling to start with. He thinks it's being down to his set ups and since our last meeting, he's gone back to basics, to how they were at the back end of last season and I know he was to go and do some testing and was riding in the Julie Lewis Memorial meeting on Thursday just gone at Redcar. I'm sure Adam will get going soon and we'll see the scores that he's capable of, which will then make us a very hard team to beat! He went on, however, to bemoan the lack of home action his boys are having Sunday will be like starting the season all over again at home. Our lads haven't had the chance yet to get dialled in to their home track yet. We are currently going 4 weeks between home fixtures, which isn't good for the lads or the supporters. Again after Sunday, we unfortunately have to go another 4 weeks before our next home meeting, then after that it looks like we are racing at home every Sunday, bar one or two. Finally Pipe asked for the fans support in the second half on Sunday We have an MDL meeting in the 2nd half and it would be great to see fans staying back to watch these lads in action. I'm giving MDL debuts to Dale Lamb and Blair Smith. Those 2 along with Kev Whelan and George Rothery makes our team an interesting one because I'm sure at least one of these could well be in a Buxton race jacket in the NL in 2016! That's the aim and the reason why we are running a team in the MDL. These lads know it's now time to impress, if they want me to consider them for a NL berth next season! Please stay back if you can and show these lads some support. Buxton 1.Tony Atkin 2.Tom Woolley 3.Adam Extance 4.Ryan Blacklock 5.Liam Carr 6.David Holt 7. Paul Bowen Stoke 1.Jon Armstrong 2.
