Berwick V Plymouth 20/6/15

Recommended Posts

Enjoyed the meeting last night and fair play to Plymouth, lead all the way and deserved their points. As others have mentioned Berwick need to get back to a seven man team asap, its clear Barker will be out for a significant length of time but as long as he is No1 the guest facility should cover him, but we either need Vissing back or get either a permanent or short term replacement for him as last night R/R doesn't get the points necessary to cover for him and Jorgensen getting injured only compounds the problem. With Glasgow and Edinburgh coming up in the next few weeks this problem needs to be addressed if we are not to suffer dropping more points at home.

Fisher possible guest next Saturday

Thats what i was also saying last night a draw about a fair result. We will certainly need Alex to up his game next week,Coty should improve after more track time,Ritchie good guest,Kevin rode well as did TJ until his fall but for me i love watching Richard never gives up.Think they should have had Ricky out at the half time draw not after heat fifteen some of us have over 50 odd miles to get home to take the wife out for drinks, also if a rider is having two races on the trot does it not make sense to have the tractors out then?

Agree with you regarding Ashworth surely this would've better being done during the interval as everyone was in the stadium and didn't need to get away at HT15 as some did but no matter it was just good to see Ricky looking well and continuing his recovery.

Track looked really heavy at the start so Alex would be in poor fettle after the walk round. Also just walked back to the pits at the of the meeting without joining the rest of the team on the centre green.Maybe too many injuries have made him worried about riding on a heavy track but he didn't seem a happy bunny last night.

How nice to see Fisher scoring so well... If he'd done that for us at Peterborough we may have had a different result..

Disappointing result but main thing is it wasn't a defeat... that will probably come next week...

Alex should be scoring more than 1 point on his home track..If there was issues it would be good to know what they were!

Decent opening score for our new boy considering it's his 1st meeting in England... and another good meeting for our Captain too which is pleasing!

And thank you to Richie Worrall on yet again another good guest performance for us..

Hope TJ is alright and ready for next week... we're gonna need him!

How badly we need a proper 1-7 though! These next few weeks are gonna show that... I do feel for our promotion with how the season has ended up!

Glad to hear the club has signed Keiron Douglas. For me it shows the youth policy the club is running is paying off. Currently you have Liam Carr, Luke Ruddick (yes I know he isn't an asset but he's came through the system) and Stephen Farnaby in the National League. Small steps I know, but it's the natural step from NJL. Three, four years down the line who knows? Berwick and speedway in general desperately need to promote young, local riders from within. It shows the club are on the right track and those involved are doing a fine job.

I agree but three or four years down the line is a long way off in the life of Berwick Speedway.
