screm
well I was wondering if he was joking about Rocky being an imaginary person as Rocky is a massive fan of Berwick who has been going for a long time Rocky will have forgotten more about speedway than our self important friend will ever know. Hopefully Rocky will be back to full health asap and get back to the racing.

DSC67
" Finally The Bandits have come back to Shielfield ", after what seems like an age and to many Saturday night having to put up with crap tv , it will be good to get back to some live action again . This looks like it could be a tricky fixture for Berwick the choice of guest will be very important , lets hope we will see some good racing a Bandits win and all the riders making it through the meeting without any more injuries

Goodiepatchie
I would love to see posters everywhere, Commercial Managers job to distribute them, not in the vague hope that someone will collect one and display it. Hope the comment is taken as constructive, as the poster cammpain is important, I have seen more of Rockys version in the town than the official one.wheres Rockys posters displayed taffy ? crescent girl
e-Newsletter tonight confirms Bandits' guest as Richie Worrall. He certainly did a job for the club at Redcar, here's hoping for more of the same.
smod
At least you have SOME posters! It is amazing how few tracks seem to advertise at all! Good point. Berwick "supporters", if that's the word, never fail to amaze. Their club issues posters detailing the month's meetings and 500+ of them get a personal newsletter e-mailed to them at least once a week (two in the past two days) and still there are those who seem to have a death-wish for "their" speedway club. I'm not a Berwick supporter, but I certainly support Berwick's professionalism and public relations. I wish every club had the same enthusiasm in this day and age. You seem to be close to the club, infact very close to be able to know the subscription number which as far as i am aware are not public but I could be wrong, as well as to say that you are not even a Berwick supporter?

If its true there are 500+ people getting the news letter, one wonders where they are on a Saturday night as, looking at some of the crowds on a Saturday night, they certainly aren't at Sheilfield. bigeddiechek
I'm quite sure it has been mentioned several times the subscription numbers. I also have it on good authority that the 500+ number is correct. Considering the club is run almost entirely by volunteers who have full-time jobs, it's not a bad effort. Even so, it doesn't appear it is enough to make it a viable venture; and with the amount of sniping, who would want to pay tens of thousands each year for the privilege?

The posters surely are not aimed at the fans or the few that recieve the newsletter, these fans come anyway, the posters are for the public at large to inform them that speedway is on, and try and get new faces on a Saturday night. It is commendable that posters have been printed, but to rely on self distribution is crazy, for example most B&B providers are not interested in speedway but would gladly put up a poster, however it is unlikely collect one to put up they need to be distributed. This surely is the Commercial Managers job You seem to be close to the club, infact very close to be able to know the subscription number which as far as i am aware are not public but I could be wrong, as well as to say that you are not even a Berwick supporter? Very close to the club
Tardis
The posters should be capitalising on the 6-10 thousand visitors we get into the area each week
sparkafag
The posters should be capitalising on the 6-10 thousand visitors we get into the area each week What tangible evidence is there in the last 20/30 years to suggest that people spending their weekend in Berwick want to attend the Speedway? bigeddiechek
What tangible evidence is there in the last 20/30 years to suggest that people spending their weekend in Berwick want to attend the Speedway? None, I'll privately let you know my connections to the various holiday parks, the uninitiated would think they would be the obvious target, but it is just not the case. For several reasons, which would be breaking confidence were I to post on a public forum. Was good to see the O2 shop helping to distribute the posters. I think the posters are the best I've seen for a speedway club. Very professional and always have current fixtures on them. Another bit of progress that again is turned into a negative by the usual crowd.
Bandits4eva
Another bit of progress that again is turned into a negative by the usual crowd. How about not retaliating Scott? Just let people have their say and then they've nowt else to bite back to! There's just some people out their who don't like our promotion and what they do.. that ain't a bad thing.. its up to them! Think how boring the world would be if we all got along. Your main thing is just to keep attending and paying your dues as you do!
Arson fire
What tangible evidence is there in the last 20/30 years to suggest that people spending their weekend in Berwick want to attend the Speedway? me, i or my family have had a caravan in the area for decades, i didnt buy one there for the speedway but i certainly went most saturdays with the kids spending a good few bob....because in a nutshell, there is naff all else to do as a family in Berwick on a saturday evening None, I'll privately let you know my connections to the various holiday parks, the uninitiated would think they would be the obvious target, but it is just not the case.
