The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock

Recommended Posts

I certainly not writing Greg off yet, certainly on the judgement of one or two USA team meetings where he hasnt much incentive nor support to go flat out.

Apart from that, everyone is entitled to have off meetings, Tai didnt start 2014 off too well, nor finish it well, same with KK this year.

You are quite right Mr Pedantic, let me rephrase ;)

If he rides like he did in the SWC and his rivals now realise he is easy to bully on track then he will finish lower than his present 4th.

There are enough riders who give him too much respect in the GP's. If the series had Laguta Kilderman Emil and a few other younger riders to shake him up he would be middle level. His gating gets him out of trouble in a lot of races.

Call yourself a proud Brit, what about harris? Or does his nickname make you think he,s joined the "dark side"?

Harris is a great Rider - no doubt - but not in GPs unfortunately apart from once at Cardiff.

You have to be realistic - sadly I think 'Bomber's GP days have just about run their course.

Hancock however.............................................

I still back Greg Hancock to do well. I hope that Tai wins the GPs Title again this year - if he doesn't, personally, I hope Hancock does.

Personally after his childish, unprofessional and pathetic behaviour last week I hope Hancock finishes last in every GP from here on. Of course I am sure the Speedway Star will paint him out to be a hero in the Cardiff editions.

Greg is the ultimate professional, he was just pushed too far by a known wallybrain.

He was fenced by a crazed lunatic. He had every right to be all three things you accuse him of. His only crime was not knocking his bleedin block off.

His statement was no the act of a professional. He does not even have the excuse of 'heat of the moment' for that.

So every time a rider is taken to the fence, you are suggesting that rider is then entitled to knock his block off? Using what, hands? tools? track rake? Where does it end?

What happens if it is a racing accident, but rider A takes exception and decides he is judge and jury and tries to knock someone's 'bleedin block off'?

Again I ask, what happens if Nicki is fenced and lashes out like Greg did? Would we all defend Nicki' actions at that point? I doubt it.

The cap would appear to fit closer to home!

Getting away from the punch-up I've just seen Greg riding his speedway bike up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. He's due to do it later on this afternoon and a couple of times tomorrow.

The most difficult according to an interview is to get the bike to turn right-ish. First time for a speedway bike apparantly

As I said, Greg Hancock, a great man for representing Speedway.
