The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock

Recommended Posts

There is no doubt in my mind that one of the weapons in Nicki's arsenal, along with his hard riding, is that he gets in the other riders heads and messes with them over time. Sometimes this is going to backfire on him and this is one of the occasions. It shows that even the most professional of riders will crack, I'm sure Greg will and does regret what happened as it shows for everyone including Nicki just how much he is mentally thrown off by Nicki. I can't remember a time when a world class rider has been held in disrespect by so many of his peers than the last 5 to 10 years or so with Nicki.

Nicki seems to be able to mostly handle his rivals opinion of him and use it to his advantage.

Certainly keeps us entertained!

violence solves nothing sid!!

Greg had hit you like that you'd still be asleep sid :)

Violence does not solve anything you are right "Arson, the problem is that Pedersen has been aloud to get away with it for years. And at times he has been shown up, as some riders have stuck up to him Costa at Chelsea is the same.As for my chin it has held up quite well over the years, i hope yours is not like Amir Khans?!!, Arson. The annoying thing is Pedersen is such a terrific rider he does not need to do it his ability would be anough anyway.

Another thread you're going to troll on talking nonsense again.

Greg was in full control of his slide off, hence jumping straight to his feet. When you're wiped out, you have no control.

As for taking someone down in glorious style, it's not glorious when YOU end up flat on your back with the other guy on top of you. Very amusing yes, but that was all. Nothing at all like Boyce's punch on Gollob.

Finally, wishing a rider to break their neck is nothing short of despicable. You are no speedway fan.

After watching the incident i was thinking how last week a young Lambert made a similar sort of move on Greg. But how he put himself in the right position and made his manoeuvre FAIRLY shows you what ability Lambert has. Edited by sidney

Well having watched several different angles on video I can honestly say that Nicki P was entirely to blame for the incident and where by I do not condone riders fighting I have to say that I would never have expected that from Greg...............he has been fined and I gather other riders are offering to pay it because he did the one thing that many of them who have been taken out by Pedersen really wanted to do............I know Holder and THJ have had a go at him before................

Pedersen is a liability on a bike at times..................he has been warned enough times about his riding.............he got warned again last night..........apparently in Sweden two warnings in a season about dangerous riding can result in a ban.................

Thankfully, quite a few of us can 'look on the brightside' over side.

Take it for it's comedic value.

Greg Hancock being compared to a cagefighter !

The steel-shoe mincing down the track ahead of the worst wrestling move since Ken Walton presented it on World of Sport.

And joy of joys.

That paragon of virtue DW enters into the fray, long-distance, to have a foul-mouthed digital bust up with NP.

Just the 'right move' when his ban is just days from it's end.

This has brightened my week up no end !

The biter bit eh Pedersen?

I have had no time for the bloke since the incident in the Coventry pits with his teammate Wayne Carter. He's been winding folks up and pushing his luck with his riding style for years and sooner or later something like this was bound to happen. The only surprise was that it was Hancock

So what to do with Ryback Hancock? Couldn't give a monkeys one way or another but feed him more before Cardiff :D

this has happened so many times in the history of this sport - usually without the glare of cameras and social media.

There will be fines, perhaps a short ban, a warning and then we all move on. Its all part of life's rich pageant - some people on here need to just calm down.

Had it been on Sky they would be showing it over and over you can be sure of that.

In every era of the sport there have been people like Nicky - he's no worse or better tbh.

That must be the sickest, most disgusting and most obnoxious line of any post that has ever appeared on the forum.

Very rare for me to get wound up by anything on here, but that really is beyond the pale.

its an unfortunate turn of phrase - badly chosen thats for sure. I'm sure he meant no disrespect

Not the worst move Nicki Pedersen has done but he is a dirty rider and finally somebody took him to task and wanted to have a scrap, it creates drama and that is something this sport needs at moment, remind me to never suggest going to an ice hockey game you would want all players banned all season ! Let them get it out of system and move on as they do in Ice Hockey !

can't see too much wrong with the rest of the post, cant see anything about 'wishing' ,,,but do agree about that line,,,

al probly get blasted for this, but while we're on the subject 'hard/dirty' riding and, I do hope Ben Barker makes a full recovery from his smash on Monday,,, I like him as a rider, but in ht 13 the previous night, it did look as if he nearly put an opposing rider thru the fence on the home straight twice, 'strange how things turn out at times' :-(

Punch ups happen from time to time (and it's worth noting how often they crop up in people's misty eyed reminiscences).

They are wrong and shouldn't happen BUT given the passion of the moment they should be met with fairly light sanction.

What does need a tough response is riders who attack fallen riders who might need medical attention.

Pedersen's move was no worse than Sundstom's in the SWC, it was a hard move, perhaps too hard, but its the sort of move that happens quite often.

That isn't a defence of Nicki's action it's just a statement to express that what Pedersen did wasn't that unusual. What was unusual was the reaction of Hancock. Unbelievable! It was like years and years of anger just exploded.

Small fine for both riders and then move on.

Bring on Cardiff!!!!

It looked a very hard move, but like others have said that SWC Final had more than few similar moves.Greg did drift slightly wide so maybe should have anticipated Niki as he knows what he is like.think it was history building up that caused his reaction, but IMO he was wrong to dive at him.
