noggin
Why would it cost Batch his place? His average is now below 7 and the extra points allow Ward to replace Miedzinski/Kildemand. Disgusting. The only positive is so far no Swindon fan has defending it. Good to see some fans with integrity. Ignoring nutty from Coventry. She hasn't a clue. Batchelors poor score today and his "rubbish" meeting (or was that meeting wih the rubbishs?!) vs Coventry drop his average below 7.[/quo te] I didn't say it would and I wasn't aware of his current average. Bruiser McHuge
I hate all this talk of riders racing to reduce their averages...or Darcy Ward will race to reduce his average ready for Poole next season..it really does the sport no favours and if fans genuinely think that it is commonplace then we may as well give up now...it no wonder crowds are dwindling if they don't believe what they are watching. Does anybody believe this is widespread in the sport ?
waiheke1
Tbf even back in the 80s I seem to recall cradley ridrrs dropping the early season points to enable Simon Cross to be fitted in - I don't think it is a purely modern phenomenon though play offs may have exarcebated it

mdmc82
If what folk think has happened has actually happened then maybe it's time for the BSPA to consider different team building techniques. Something like Denmark perhaps? Match fixing is very serious and if Swindon have deliberately lost to drop their averages and all of a sudden Ward is in the team then I doubt the BSPA would do anything. Average manipulation can also have big risks though, not only of missing out on top 4 but if a rider gets injured and they have dropped their average it's then going to be harder to get a guest. dump that clutch
I do love a good conspiracy theory... Why would Batch be in front on the last corner with the Belle Vue boys buzzing round him then stop... risking being slammed from behind (oh er missus) Take the defeat on the chin and move on. Belle Vue fully deserved the win last night. The only complaint from me really was how slick the track was, giving nothing to the likes of Howarth and Morris who tried to pass.

That point about Batch stopping there was exactly what me and the boys said last night. He wouldn't have been stopping there deliberately. But what do we know. We were only there at the meeting. Much better to believe what you read on Facebook and Twitter.
Pirates Of Poole
Regardless of what may or may not of happened, the answer will come in the next couple of weeks. If Darcy comes into the team i think we know the answer to what was happening last night. Edited June 19, 2015 by Pirates Of Poole

Phil The Ace
Well I am one happy boy. I don't believe Swindon are cheating no way. Why would batch be out after the meeting testing the most if he genuinely didn't have a problem. The 1 reason we won is the reserves and THEY DO NOT AFFECT AVERAGES IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE
Bruiser McHuge
I didn't see the meeting but one thing that totally bugs me these days is that you can't have a bad meeting without it being " done on purpose" to manipulate averages......or a rider cannot have a genuine bad meeting any more without rumours of average fiddling. Maybe with the play offs being the be all and end all this is happening now...who knows ?....if it is then it's sad times for the sport and the riders concerned must be being nicely rewarded for it..... I prefer to think it's not as widespread as people are saying but I hope I'm wrong.
