Workington V Rye House 13/05/15 19:00hrs (pl)

Recommended Posts

After a long break from Speedway the Comets are up against Rye House who kept the scores fairly close when the were last at Derwent Park in May (koc) only going down by 12 pts.

It looks as if super reserve Kasper Lykke wil be missing for the Rockets with a broken collarbone and Anders Mellgren will also be missing from the side with broken ribs and a punctured lung!

For the Comets it could be a full side although if the Great Britain side qualified for the WTC final there may be a doubt with Kyle Howarth who is the current team GB reserve.

Kasper Lykke wouldn't have been at reserve, it's Robin Aspegren at 7 with RR & a guest for Kasper and Anders Mellgren Edited by Shads

Wont be here for this match "again" due to work but I agree with Gazza66, with a guest in Covatti scoring as well as he is Rye could very well nick a bonus pt from this match, Comets a bit rusty and low on confidence at the moment, should be too strong and I would be very disappointed if we couldn't make a 3pt win result?

48-42 for me!!

  • Steve Boxall aggravated a previous shoulder injury
  • No Kasper
  • Greenwood 1+1
50-42 not a bad result

And no points at all from RR

Time to give up on Boxall. Offering nothing & sounds like it's the usual with crap kit & one bike etc.

What with Lykke & Mellgren out the team isn't good enough to carry passengers. R/R scoring 0 is shambolic.

Me thinks with the injuries to Lykke & Mellgren the season will drift away. Mellgren especially has had confidence issues this season after his back injury, so will most likely be even more careful when he returns.

Greenwood isn't good enough at premier level, Boxall is not consistent.

Where are the replacements gonna come from?

Looks like Boxall will be out for a while if his shoulder is giving him trouble. With Kasper out for at least another month and Anders not due to return for a couple of weeks the season is all but over. Defeat to Berwick in the KOC will be the final nail in the coffin. A home loss to Peterborough next Saturday is almost certain. Edited by Shads

Yep, worked for us tonight. Not always in the past though, good job he was there. Apparently we can't use Wells in the pairs cos it goes on rolling averages, crazy?

The pairs are based on July's averages, they'll be released about a week before the 1st July, so it will be a choice between Wells, Howarth and Bach
