Fozzie4388
You can't use 2 guests unless you have someone else in top 5 missing. It's 1 guest and R/R. Be Harsh on Ash to say we don't need you now someone betters come along even if it would make Scunny stronger.

topgun
Another rubbish result on the road this team is crap to many riders not performing need to do something fast . Three race wins out of 15 not good
Albert
Surprisingly easy win for Scunny, expected more of the Comets to be honest. Â Congrats to Ash Birks, what a fantastic guest booking, was absolutely faultless. The rest of the Scunny lads all put in a good shift... From a Scunny point of view, a most entertaining meeting and a most welcome three points. Â Ricky Wells, Rene Bach and Kyle Howarth scored the bulk of the points for Worky without ever looking that impressive. Not sure what to make of Kenneth Hansens showing. EC Rides Again
What a rubbish guest...... Â Easy as you like for the Scorpions. The Comets were a let down, especially the Danes. Â I think that Glasgow will be a much sterner test next Friday. I wonder who the Guest will be..........

eric i
Well I thought it was a mistake not using a guest for Josh Auty but you can't argue with the perfect display from Birks. I was surprised how poor Workington were, I expected more Hansen and Bach. I think the slicker track actually suited Scunny riders. Â Do Glasgow have priority over Lawson? Gazc
Â Lakeside and Coventry riding too so unless they're rearranged fixtures. Glasgow will have no Lawson or Sarjeant Lawson is a Glasgow Asset so we take priority on any fixture clashes Sarjeant however is not and Coventry have first call on him. lucifer sam
Massively enjoyable meeting last night. Â Ashley Birks was a brilliant guest with five classy wins, and the whole team rode well. Some great racing as well, with a number of races won from behind, including a great win for Theo Pijper in Heat 13 around the outside. Â All the best Rob
eric i
Sarj gets a new 6.5ish average in 7 days. Will give Glasgow plenty of guest options. In time for next Friday? Can they use Birks for him?
smod
In time for next Friday? Can they use Birks for him? Â Birks couldn't guest for Glasgow next Friday. Â Rule 17.7.1.2 -- can't guest at a track twice within 8 days unless replacing home No 1 or is an NL rider.
Lord Lucan
For a team missing it's No1, riders not on form and an "allegedly" poor guest, Scunny have bossed this show seemingly no problem at all? Â Very disappointing result for the Comets, for all of the above, I thought we could have easily got pts from this match, another half team performance but even some of the scorers weren't as impressive as they should have been judging by the comments? Â Hansen will improve for a drop to a lower position in the team, possibly no5, Howarth probably to 1 with Wells/Bach staying where they are, the other three I'm afraid look to be on borrowed time, (that includes Barrett even tho he wasn't riding tonight) Greaves just not ready for the PL at the moment but gaining valuable experience and Wethers well, just not the rider he once was, doesn't seem to be getting the pts we'd hoped for? Â Still plenty of matches to go at this stage but changes need to be made sooner rather than later in order to get ourselves on track for the remainder of the season, not looking good away from home, very rarely dangerous and we need to sort it out, as I've said before, we wont win anything with home wins alone, the road is the make or break area and we have to improve our showing on it? thebaron
Ash on the gas ! what a brilliant meeting this grew into. Rob started out apologising to the sponsors in the club bar; for the lack of passing and then the meeting turned into a truly great advert for all that is good in speedway. Theo Pijper was absolutely superb; and showed yet again what an astute signing he is. His Heat13 dog fight with the Comets Howarth/Hansen pair was worth the admission alone; Comets out 5-1; but Theo works the dirt on the outside and eventually at the end of the Lap3 has almost drawn alongside the Comets. Then into Lap4 squeeeeezes down the narrowest of gaps up to the fence to hit the front on Turn 3-4 and steals over the line. Â Theo's not just a speedway rider; he is a quality motorcyclist; uses his head when riding and is safe in all race situations. Just watch how Theo rides into Turn1 at Scunny he takes that corner better than any rider I watch and is quickly into the race from there. Theo came to us late and if I recall; he might not have intended racing a full season this year. But he answered our call; and he as become a real Scunthorpe favourite. Â But that was not all; Alex Davies going through the pain barrier; was down again in Heat6 when he shed a chain; but threw off the aches and pains to win a titanic Heat8 battle riding neck and neck with Comets Matty Wethers. "Thunder Davies" superbly switched from the outside to the inside for the right line to take Wethers on Turn1 Lap3. Wethers put everything into the heat; but Alex was that bit more determined. Â Absolutely thrilling action; and rightly had Rob by then was enthusiastically describing the action centre field; and the crowd (although granted small) responding well; the riders rightly enjoying taking the plaudits and saluting the crowd. Rob has not been usual affable self on the centre green of late; but the old enthusiasm was there last night. When he can he should stick with it because the crowd feed off it and the riders too. It can bring the meeting to life. Â Ashley Birks looked different class; and what an inspired choice of guest - 15 point maxiumum and he showed that Rob was right to bring our ex-captain Birks back. Ash was on the gas from the off; and was clearly determined to let no one down. Had you wishing that he was still on the team; but we are where we are. Certainly will have earned himself another call-up to aid our injury crisis. Â Rob; hinted at decisions needing to be made about next season and surely more nights like last night might make a decision to carry on at the EWR that bit easier. Big thanks to the management; and riders for serving up a great nights speedway; with no hold ups' or delays; a Scorpions win and EVERYONE HOME SAFE. That's what it is all about.
