Penny Cross
A half decent crowd, but one of the poorest meetings in terms of passing for a long time at the SBA. Â Plymouth contrived to lose this one rather than Glasgow winning it. A combination of poor gating, riding the wrong lines, and one rider not looking interested. Â I have recently pointed out the poor form of Morten Risager. Cant do that after that performance. Sublime in all ways. Looked a totally different rider, deservedly getting MoM award. Spoke honestly and openly and apologised for letting everyone down. Fair play to him for that, as he always gives a good interview. Â Holder looked superb in his first 2 rides, even clocking a sub 50 seconds winning time in Ht3. Unfortunately it all went wrong in Ht9. Summers pushed him wide in a typical 1st bend, he locked up and was forced to switch lines. Meanwhile, Kurtz had tried to avoid this, but picked up a little too much grip, and t-boned Holder. IMO it was a 50/50 call who to exclude. In the rerun, Holder gave it his all after a dreadful start. He got up with the team riding TIgers, but overdid it on bend 4, crashing heavily. Unsurprisingly not really in Ht14. Â Newman didn't make a gate all night. Rode a very wide line in Ht10 to blast past everyone round the first turn.Otherwise hardly noticeable. Risager was Sublime. Kurtz perhaps a little unlucky to be excluded in Ht9, but a steady if unspectacular season home debut. Holder see above. Fisher started like a rocket and even I thought he looks good! Went back to his old ways of over riding and looking like a novice until Ht13 when he gated and went. Benko was not really on the pace, although he did beat an uninterested Fisher in Ht7. Simota needs a rocket up his backside. Very poor from him and imo, the reason Devils lost. Stuck to the white line like glue and was never likely to pass anyone. The terraces were screaming for him to go wide, which he only did on the last lap of his last ride! He made up significant ground. If only..... Â Sarjeant still up to his starting tricks. Moved 3 times and scored 7+2 stationary twice and failed to score. Enough said. The whole Tigers team contributed although a little disappointed in Morris. Where did Palovaara come from? Wasn't expecting that. Lawson started slowly but came good when it mattered. For Summers, read the opposite. Any reason Berge was replaced in Ht12? Â Back to the drawing board for the Devils. Palovaara scores very well on small tracks and has guested for a couple of teams at Edinburgh and got loads of points

Gazc
Â Plymouth contrived to lose this one rather than Glasgow winning it. A combination of poor gating, riding the wrong lines, and one rider not looking interested. Â Â You tend to lose if you are gating poor on the other hand we seemed to be gating better hence why we won probably. Â Going by the updates there didn't appear to be much in the way off passing. Former devil
morten had a different mechanic this week as his was on holiday Not sure it was totally down to that. When interviewed Morten attributed his improved performance to advice he had been given by Brian Andersen during the week. Â As said by Pennycross, he always gives good, honest interviews. Still dont understand why he wasnt the captain? Oh yeah forgot this is Plymouth and they named the captain before they had even signed any other riders!! barncooseboy
Sam Simota had been in bed with a flu type bug for 5 days before this meeting, really should have pulled out because he was very weak physically.
Former devil
So he should be over it and good for double figure score this week then!
barncooseboy
he seems to pick these bugs up when he flies, could it be something to do with the way the airlines recirculate the air, one passenger has a bug and everybody ends up with it
