PHILIPRISING
FROM BSI ... The council were very reluctant to run the fanzone on St Mary’s St due to health and safety issues – it had outgrown that spot and got very, very congested during the day. To give you an idea, their footfall monitors showed that St Mary’s Strret alone had over 20,000 more people through that area than normal when the fanzone was on St Mary’s Street. There are very few suitable locations to run the FZ close to the stadium and Wood St is the best option available to us by the Council. Wood St will be closed to traffic to accommodate the FZ – just like last year.
SCB
But Wood Street is more congested than St Mary Street. and 20,000 people is nothing if 200,000 people normally use the street!

It cannot make H&S sense to put it where that extra footfall is MORE congested. Or is the thinking that by making it deliberately more unpleasant to attend people will be coerced into keeping away? Scott0311
Am I right in thinking Prem Pawlicki is next in line to replace Jarek Hampel ?? Kildemand, Piotr Pawlicki followed by Linus Sundstrom according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Speedway_Grand_Prix
SCB
I though the FIM/IMG could nominate anyone this year and had done away with reserves?
racers and royals
Scott is correct kildemand will replace hampel in cardiff as 1st reserve 2 nd reserve is piotr pawlicki and 3 rd reserve sundstrom. The fim have picked them rather than go for the highest non-qualifiers from the challenge
OveFundinFan
Anyone heard any more about Jarek? How bad are the breaks, Estimate of time out of action?
severnsider
Jarek was going to Poznan to have an operation on his leg. Would expect him to be out for a long time as double fracture and reports it was a spiral fracture too

Senior Start Tart
Can anyone help me please? I am gutted that on 2nd July I will miss Cardiff because I will be travelling down the Rhine on a boat. The good news is that the boat does have free wi-fi. Does anyone know if I can watch the GP on a German station because I suspect I might not get British Eurosport there? Many thanks.

racers and royals
Did anyone else hear Nigel Pearson say during the world cup that the Cardiff track is going in early this year.
severnsider
Did anyone else hear Nigel Pearson say during the world cup that the Cardiff track is going in early this year. Yes he said that they were laying the track earlier. I assume this is due to the problems with the track in Warsaw and at Cardiff a couple of years ago
Haza
Did anyone else hear Nigel Pearson say during the world cup that the Cardiff track is going in early this year. yes he did say that the reason I'm told is the football / rugby pitch grass is now permanent and the track will be laid on top of the grass- which to me doesn't sound good at all - they have to get this track right no ifs or buts needs to be 100%

And, if so, has this been done like this at Cardiff before? This is not the year for new and interesting experimental work. Is it?

Humphrey Appleby
This is not the year for new and interesting experimental work. Is it? Can't see that it'll make a lot of odds to the track. More likely that the expensive pitch will get damaged.
