9 and 10

EH!!!

I've checked Posts 9 and 10 and they have no relevance whatsoever.

You do realise that is a minute of my life I won't get back. I haven't that many left that I can throw them away lightly. :o;):) :)

What heats had he commited the offenses in? Live updates doesn't mention them.

OK, there was some "debate" at the track, and I can't help what has been posted on live updates, but he was definitely out of time on 2 occasions because there was a bit of a chuckle about it happening more than once...heats 9 and 10 .

Brummies management being stupid then! D'oh.

Probably because he had exceeded the 2 minute time allowance on two separate occasions and had therefore committed 2 Starting Offences ?

Any chance that the referee might on this occasion be right, and you, mdmc82 and TWK might not know the facts and apologise, or at least eat humble pie........ .?

I was replying to a post somebody had made so not sure what need for humble pie would be. No mention on their post or updates about any offences.

My comment about some refs being shocking wS not just aimed at the one in question, I meant Chrisina Turnball & Jim Laurence to name two.

Jim Lawrence is one of the best UK Referees in my opinion. What has he done to warrant being called shocking? If you make yourself known to him next time he is at your track, I am sure he will listen to your comments and respond politely.

The first GP he had a shocker and has been just as bad at some previous ones. Was also terrible at Coventry this year.

Thank you Barbara Horley. I thought that referees had to at least be able to count to 10 without losing track half way to the end. How can Adam Kirkby be prevented from riding in heat 14 of the Eastbourne v Birmingham meeting for having riden in 7 races already when he'd only been out in 5? I despair.

Just to confirm, the referees scorecard show that Adam Kirby was nominated for both heats 9 and 10 and missed the 2 minutes both times.

Looks like the Brummies team manager cannot count to 8!!

What I will say in the Brummies managers defence, a few years ago on a Sky meeting at Brandon, Middlo gave Renat Gafurov 8 rides, one of which was a 2 minute exclusion. But then Middlo is tactically inept so being as good/bad as Middlo is not really anything to be proud of.

Does a 2 min exclusion count as a ride?

I didnt think it was for average purposes etc

It's a "frustrated ride". So it always counts for maximum rides. It counts for averages is the rider is not replaced. But it doesn't count as minimum rides if the rider is replaced or for averages.

No. Poole simply get away with murder if it's on SkySports.

Strong personality. Speedway through and through.

I knew Lew many years ago through his son who I played Ice Hockey with.

Never saw him referee as I wasn't into Speedway back then, but what was he like calling matches land when decisions needed to be made, and did he have a good rapport with team officials and riders?

I know nothing of Margaret Vardy apart from she appears to live in my birth town. She was referee at last sundays Buxton v Stoke match.

There were several fallers, but in my opinion she called correctly in every case and gave every chance for the riders to sort themselves out.

She also chucked a bloke off the track who was gardening on gate 1 who wasn't even a rider!

I feel that the ref last night at Peterborough got it wrong to exclude Kurtz, i thought ther was just the minimum of contact, Kurtz had atleast three quartes of his bike past, didn't move off line. imo Speedway is starting to get like football, wher a player is afraid to make a tackle in the box, if the player goes down, its a penalty!
