waiheke1
Is this still going on.............its really getting a bit tiresome now...............especially as Horton said on camera 'if you are going to run heat 9 you may as well run heat 10'................. Coventry haven't got a leg to stand on.............the fact the meeting continued and they withheld their riders services and got fined as a result even though their promoter said to continue to heat 10 to call a result does not bode well in anyones books................ Give it a rest now and move on.............. RP So out of interest what happened to the track between heat nine and ten to change it from safe to unsafe? What a promoter said on camera should have no bearing on whether a track is deemed safe or not?
orion
because we were not there perhaps and cant comment! There were hardly any fans at this match ..there were far more at the lakeside match .
LisaColette
If someone sat next to me with a drum they'd get one of the sticks shoved somewhere to shut them up. Wow.... Coventry fans sure are aggressive aren't they? 😩
Red Panda
So out of interest what happened to the track between heat nine and ten to change it from safe to unsafe? What a promoter said on camera should have no bearing on whether a track is deemed safe or not May be not but it was clear he wanted to get the result.............as for the track being unsafe again that was down to the weather..........where was the track walk that normally happens when there is the potential to call a meeting off............sorry but Coventry only have themselves to blame for this debacle..............no one else.............. waiheke1
How are Coventry to blame.? Yes they should have lowered the prices to encourage pre purchase of tickets. But surely neither Coventry or Poole are to blame for the meeting running to exactly ten heats?
Gemini
Wow.... Coventry fans sure are aggressive aren't they? No. It was a joke but obviously Poole fans have no sense of humour after years of being paranoid everyone is against them.

I agree all the other teams are against us which i think is similar in most sports!!

Gemini
Yes, they are.......with one or two exceptions. My comment about the drum was obviously a joke so no real need to call Coventry fans aggressive.

mdmc82
Everyone who backtracks always says it's a joke! 😅I think you need to lighten up. Gemini is one of the most genuine posters on here and was making a joke. I'm still not sure why he felt the need to bang a drum after every heat. Did look very strange. 😂 Edited June 16, 2015 by mdmc82

As the father of a drummer and he isn't the one being mentioned, i can say i agree with the sentiments of Gemini!!, thankfully he now only sings in his band which is much less annoying!!

And from my previous visits to Brandon they can be aggressive.
Gavan
After having a small sabbatical from the forum this is how i see this meeting. The fact is the meeting should never have started. The track and weather were in bad shape before a wheel was turned with the promise it was only going to get worse. Lets be honest Sky forced the meeting to go ahead. Once it had started it was quite clear by heat 7 it had to be called off. However yet again because we are on tv it carrys on. Coventry should have been protesting at that point. By the end of heat 8 it 100% needed to be cancelled. It was quite clear that the official refused a track inspection when it needed to be done. He then agreed to a track inspection after heat 9 which he failed to do. So who is to blame? No way are Coventry to blame and i wholly agree with them making a stand for heat 10. No way are Poole to blame. They got out there and rode and did what any other team would have done. I cant stand Ford, Middlo is a fool and a couple of their fans on here are not exactly clever , but they did nothing wrong here unlike the Belle Vue fiasco. The blame lies with Sky and the officials. The match should possibly have been called off before the start, probably been called off after 8 and most definatly after heat 9.
