SteveLyric2
I'm afraid to say that for probably the first time ever I really don't care what happens tomorrow night, with every guest named my enthusiasm erodes a little extra. The EL becomes more and more farcical each year and last night's events have made me fall out with the sport a bit more and I just don't see an end to it. I've been to Lynn three times this year and not really missed it on the Wednesdays I've not gone. ....but I bet you'll be watching on Sky tomorrow!! I'll be there with the meeting sponsors - even they have guests! Edited June 2, 2015 by Skidder1

Bagpuss
....but I bet you'll be watching on Sky tomorrow!! I'll be there with the meeting sponsors - even they have guests! I bet I won't. Apart from the final couple of heats last night and a few races from Swindon last week I've not bothered with the EL coverage this year. There is usually something better to do. g13webb
Like I say, whatever happens tonight will have no bearing on the season whatsoever. With so many guests, this is more like a challenge friendly match and bears little resemblance to the real thing. So no not that important... Different from some on here, I have gone to every match at home this year plus some away as well. My love for speed sports have not diminished, even though the signs are there for all to see. Yes I will be watching it on the Television tonight, but only cause there's nothing else to watch...... Love watching T and P making it out to more exciting than it actually is...... mikebv
It will have some bearing as there are points at stake. It will have some bearing as there are points at stake.I agree, each match over the season has a definate bearing on who will be the final winners of the league... All these 'select' matches every week allows every team the opportunity to pick and choose who they want, so by 'trial and error' by the time the play offs come around the teams who get there will clearly know which guests ride best at which tracks, and this in turn will then steer them as to which riders of their own should suddenly/unfortunately/sadly become 'ill' or 'injured' prior to the play offs starting.....! SPEEDY69
Just heard on the radio that Nicklas Porsing is not riding tomorrow, has food poisoning! Doolan steps in Really? Batchelor last week Porsing this week - I can only think of one occasion in the last 20 years when anyone I've worked with or known has had real poisoning. He may just have an upset tummy, which usually only lasts a day maximum. Who is ever going to question it though?
pugwash
Just heard on the radio that Nicklas Porsing is not riding tomorrow, has food poisoning! Doolan steps in There's a lot of it about. If you remember Poole had a dose of it a few years ago, something in the grapes.
semion
Gater its more to do with creditability. Poole are racing against a Elite/Premier League select 7
Bagpuss
Precisely. Just like people only being concerned about getting the four points on Monday night rather than the damage that was done to speedway's already flimsy image.
g13webb
Primarily, using replacement riders is not about strength of the team, it is solely to fulfil the clubs obligation of the fixture planners. I have no qualms Lynn using guests like Bomber, Josh and Doolan, as they will probably score similar to those being replaced. Whatever they achieve, it won't mean anything. The bigger issue is that they have no connection with the club or fans. There is no comeback, relationship, or continuality between the rider and the team. Next week they will be racing against us and doing their utmost to undo everything they achieved tonight.. but that's the way it is... I don't blame anybody for the situation, unfortunately, that's the rules. But there is no way on this earth, will I travel 350 miles to support a team full of guests. regardless of the competition......and that is the biggest problem of using guests, its turning fans away from the sport......
mdmc82
Or just like people only being concerned with throwing their toys out the pram, getting their riders fined and showing disrespect to the authorities, rather than the damage that was done to speedway's already flimsy image. What respect did authorities show to the riders. You may disagree but I think safety should always come first. We were just lucky that we are not discussing a serious injury now. I've been to Lynn three times this year and not really missed it on the Wednesdays I've not gone. I'm very sorry to see you type this Chris (and I know your feelings as we've spoken about it in person!) I sat last Thursday out through choice and I can't say I missed it as such either. I was quite happy at home watching Springwatch I knew someone who did both Lynn and Peterborough meetings on Thursday/Friday last week and he said the meeting at Peterborough on Friday was much better overall (he revised his initial thought that Lynn's meeting was better by about heat 13!) I've found myself enjoying speedway at Peterborough more than ever these days, so I will continue to go down the A47 to visit our neighbours to see Premier League racing... I hope the "Stars Select" do something at Poole tonight, but I think that may well be wishful thinking! What respect did authorities show to the riders. You may disagree but I think safety should always come first. We were just lucky that we are not discussing a serious injury now. Exactamondo. If Sky hadn't have been there, the meeting would've been called off I think before it had even started!
mdmc82
Tbh KL aren't really weakend. Harris for Iversen is a like for like replacement around Poole if you look at previous scores Grajczonek for Schlein. Grajczonek again knows how to score well around Poole. Doolan for Porsing. Doolan is better than Porsing this season by a mile. Harris has also had some poor meeting at Poole and doesn't like riding a

Strange how it ALWAYS involves Poole though ! The sooner the better that Wimborne Rd slips quietly into Poole harbour ................ that would improve the tattered image of British Speedway. SteveLyric2
Harris has also had some poor meeting at Poole and doesn't like riding a bike? horse? donkey? greyhound? what are you trying to say? BTW Bomber was more than happy with the Poole track when he guested a couple of weeks ago. He actually said in interview the track was the best he'd ridden this season!! I hope Sky don't destroy it for tonight! ps. there's a whisper that there's a hit squad waiting for Big Ron somewhere on the stadium approach roads!! Whereas I'm looking forward to seeing Bomber cos he's an out and out racer, Doolan is much preferable for me as I've never rated Porsing and although I'd much rather see Rory, Josh is another rider I like watching. There again I'm no longer a true Lynn fan. Just for Semion....3 miles from track sunny, warm a few white clouds and a bit of a breeze Matt Ford needs to up his advertising cos the waiter where we had lunch had never heard of Speedway but knew all about the motorbikes in Bournemouth at the weekend "they ride ever so close together " he gushed. So I attempted to educate him and gave him directions to the stadium...well told him it was behind Barclays ....now where do I go to claim my prize from Matt lol.
