dukes
Since 2004 Halifax Dukes have re existed. A Company bearing the same name and a protection bond with the BSPA exists. Numerous meetings over the years have taken place with the use of the name Halifax Dukes with the approval of the BSPA. Actively since 2004 regular meetings with the local Council and Planners have taken place and are still on going to locate a prime site that satisfies all legal requirements. Previously Halifax Dukes were members of the NJL and MDL until bureaucracy entered into a simple venture that was supposed to help provide track time for young riders. Many are aware of the reality behind the previous resignation from the MDL and NJL. Fast forward to 2015, during a 11 year period Halifax have helped and supported numerous riders to reach for their dream until now. Halifax were approached to run a team in the NJL to ensure riders could have track time, after taking all into consideration it was decided to go ahead. Fixtures planned, rider availability, track availability, paramedic cover, track officials organised, monies for payment for referees guaranteed and even a fixture rode. The Punchline is we have now been informed we do not meet the correct criteria to hold these meetings. The losers in this are the Youth of British Speedway. Facts. 30 riders in The British Youth Championship have benefitted through the Halifax connection. Elite League has a rider who has previously been assisted, several Premier and National League Riders have and still receive support. The Motto of Halifax Dukes Speedway is Perseverance Gives Accomplishment. We will not go away or die, but those who put obstacles in our way will sooner or later and we will be back. Veterancub
Can we just emphasise that this expulsion is absolutely nothing to do with the NJL . The NJL have welcomed Halifax , and Castleford, with open arms as we believe that the more opportunitys there are for yougsters the better speedway will be. Obviously the B.S.P.A. Think differently!
