How do they determine how many riders from each country get a place? Seems strange GB have four riders, but Australia only seem to have two.

Im sure countries make a request for places and it also based on previous success.

Also on how many organizers there are for the qualis, meaning is there 32 or 48 places to share. The problem has been in previous years and increasingly, that no one wants to stage meetings like U21 or SGP quali's. Think it was Jesper who revealed earlier that the CCP is having a problem trying to find an organiser for even the GP Challenge next year.

Sure f-s-p has a better idea, but like scb say's on previous success.ask for 4 spots and maybe get 3.If you ask for 3 you might be lucky or you'd more than likely get 2,unless you are The Netherlands and you will get laughed out......and I think there might be a penalty for not sending anyone the previous year or they didn't turn up,sort of thing

Are meetings like the U21s and GP qualifiers done on a share of gate revenue between the host stadium and the organisation or do the hosts pay a fee and keep all the gate receipts?

They definately keep the gate, but they have to pay the prize money as well. Prize money for every FIM meeting is written for the public in the rule book. Not gonna put money on this, but I think there's a staging fee involved as well and that will then include the FIM officials coming from abroad on FIM's expense. I dont think the staging fee's are public knowledge, but my educated guess estimate is between 2k € for a meeting like an U21 quali to about 25k € for a SGP.

If you get an allocation and produce a no show, there's a fine and most likely the scales will be tilted against you the following year.

For what it's worth: both nations got what they asked for. Denmark for instance requested 10 places but got only 5.

As I have mentioned before there was at least one German club that were complaining that is was cheaper to host a Euro meeting than a German national meeting because of the fees etc that had to be payed. And glad yu confirmed my thought about the "no show"

Riders have to pay ridiculous money for an FIM meeting license as well.

For the 125cc Youth Gold Trophy meeting it as 143 euro... (one event !!)

You gotta admire guys like Hayden Sims, paying out all that money for a trip to Europe with little hope of success.A few open meetings in Germany a trip to Denmark and then the long trip down to Italy :t:

One off for a SGP I think was about 800. But thats not FIM, but special SGP license. Trying to find out how much is a one off for u21's.

EDIT: abput the same what Jesper said.
