Bagpuss
Plus Lambert & Kerr carrying knocks. Think it would be fair to say that Lord Ford and his cronies are visiting us at a good time.
g13webb
Should be an easy win for Poole now.Lets be honest we are riding with one heatleader and 4 second strings in the top 5.Yes I am counting R/R as a second string as Iversen can only take one of those rides. Absolutely a nightmare for Lynn, and the state of British speedway now that you cant readily get guests when you need them. Totally agree, with only one other match on tonight ( Redcar v Ipswich) and the fact we can't find a better guest than Masters, it sure leaves a bad taste in one mouth. Either Buster and Rob haven't tried very hard, or the riders are collectively saying No, Whatever the reason, it sure conspired to give Poole another easy win. Thought this year was going to be special, but it turning out just the same as always............ Why couldn't we'd been playing Leicester, I wouldn't have minded giving them the advantage....... .. They need a bit of luck...... The only Plus Factors in all of this is that Rory appears to be progressing well. :t:

Yes we are but perhaps a better guest may have helped you, there are no other EL teams riding tonight why cant they get a better guest. R/R for Bjerre is ok as neils gets a extra ride. Yes you would have thought they would jump at the chance especially when some riders like Newman and Josh G did two meetings in the same day on monday.
mdmc82
Has Matt Ford had a sudden change of heart. I remember him calling off the meeting against Lakeside when he just had Shamak missing as he didn't want to rob the paying public yet twice this week they have ridden against a heavily depleted Leicester, tonight they are racing against a depleted King's Lynn and then Monday a bees team with no number 1 or guest available. Surely some of these fixtures should be rearranged for the sake of the paying public? Edited May 28, 2015 by mdmc82

semion
I think Kings Lynn and Buster in particular are now coming into the poignant time of our season. Changes need to be made. Maybe as many as 3 ( Rory, Ash and Porsing) Lets see how serious Buster is about winning the Elite league, for the first time ever, in our 50th Year. Tonight will have little to no baring on where Kings Lynn end up come the end of the season. What Buster does in the next 7/14 days will. Poole should be taking 4 comfortable points from tonights meet.

They never set the rule and also found out the night before the fixture so very short notice. Poole knew in advance.

Yeah right oh. Doesn't matter how short the notice is it could still be called off by the home team. semion
If Buster wanted this one off I am sure it could be arranged. Burst Pipe, electrical problem, Foot and Mouth, Blocked drains, etc etc The thing is it costs money for any Promotion to call off a meeting. So as the sport is not blessed with making massive profits why would they even consider calling it off ?

mdmc82
My thoughts would be that they might lose more from fans walking away from the sport than they'd gain by putting on some poor meetings. I don't think any supporter of any club really wants to see a win handed to them from an incomplete team. I wouldn't want to at least. Unfortunately not everybody is like you. I guess if Poole can have points handed to them against 4 weakened teams then they will as means points on the table that they may not have got otherwise.

If that is the case Leicester should have stayed closed for the last few weeks. At Kings Lynn we have had some shocking seasons. I remember the last one was Waggy's final season in charge. Seem to remember we only had one genuine heat leader all season ( Nicki P). You cannot call meetings off cos you think you are going to get one stuck into you. There are winners and Losers at everything. You have to take the rough with the smooth. Kings Lynn have NEVER won the main Title in British Speedway ( came close once or twice) but they are still in there giving it a go, and the fans are still turning up in decent numbers. semion
So if, as Lynn Have, lost 2 of their top 3 riders, for an indeterminate period of tiem what is the choice ? Sign new riders ? Difficult as it seems riders do not seem keen to ride in the UK, hence why we have so many riders doubling up down and sideways now. R/R is one opition, but can have massive pit falls, or bring in guests. Guests, rightly or wrongly have been a part of British speedway since the year dot. I even recall Ivan Mauger ( Hull ?) would only do home meetings, and they had to use a guest for away meetings. This is the Sport called Speedway that we have in the UK 2015, and its a case of like it or lump it. Nothing is going to change it at the top level in British Speedway. So you're implying that KL are not prepared to pay for a "decent EL-standard" guest??............. you really are so far up the a$$ of a particular promoter its a wonder you ever see daylight! Personally, I reckon Buster should get hold of a JCB and dig a trench across the first bend this afternoon .......... I'm sure your "friend" could loan him the blueprint! pointsmeanplayoffs
I see on twitter that there is a collection tonight for Rory. Let's dig deep and spare whatever we can to support our injured skipper and his family through this difficult time. Well done the club for organizing.

He has guested for so many of our own teams over the last 18 months that you would hope a collection is organised at every EL track. He deserves it.
