SCB
£50 in the PL? 15 years ago the top PL boys were on £100 a point and fairly recently one NL club was paying £50 a point.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
You fall off and write a few bikes off, or blow a few engines.... that's where you benefit. Let's say an average basic point wage is 100 quid in the top flight, you need to score 4 before you put any food on the table. Score a max and you ve got a good take home wage for an evenings work. But in the second flight let's say average is 50 quid a point. 8 points is do able for most riders but essentially you need an 8 point average just to wipe your face. It's one of those deals that will be great for some, but pretty disastrous to others. not sure it would work like that either.Could well be a you break it you pay for it policy as well.... I think you will find most riders or on a guarantee of some sort.Generally nowadays it's just the reserves on low points money who rightly get say a 3 point guarantee after that not many maybe the odd no 1.

THE DEAN MACHINE
I've seen in Facebook yesterday Bradley Wilson Dean is selling his GM to buy a GTR
teaboy279
There is quite a number of riders on them flying and there also seems a number struggling to get them set up. But Tom Brennan who will go from number 7 to number 1 for Eastbourne in the first averages certainly seems to have got his to work.

THE DEAN MACHINE
Do you think the GTR will catch on through time ,if it prove reliable.seems to be a slow burner but starting to pick up a little now , buy the end of season we should be able to see if it is going to be a successful venture
waytogo28
It needs to be more than a slow burner IF as thought it was intended to be mandatory for 2018. Why did the BSPA invest so much in the G. engine ( if they did in real cash terms - who knows?) if they were not intending to bring it in as THE speedway engine for the future? Lots of ifs but if the Freddie Lindgren version is "standard" it must be pretty good, when set up correctly as he is flying at the top level. As i have said earlier, I don't think the BSPA have put the money up front, rather a guarantee for a certain number of engines.

As he's a works rider, I doubt he actually owns the one he's riding.
Lord Skid
Even better, give the money to Marcel, he gets the full RRP, and Fast Freddie gets a new one out of the box ready for the next GP.

The White Knight
After Fast Freddies results this season I can see an orderly queue forming Which might become disorderly in the rush to get one.
montie
A GP winner is just what the GTR engine needed.. And surely proves that it is equal to the GM with a massive reduction in running cost for the rider.. Let's hope more riders get on them now If could possibly make speedway viable again

Let's hope more riders get on them now If could possibly make speedway viable again The GTR is showing how unviable the PJR GM is so far this season with the main 3 in Woffy, Holder & Hancock failing quite miserably in the 2 GP's. They'll now be sending their motors back to be had a look at (more expense) while Fast Freddie has his sitting in the shed until the next one
