Shale Searcher
Do you have any idea at all how the bond works? It's for each individual clubs protection. Example, if King's Lynn come the end of the season owes money then the King's Lynn bond is there to cover King's Lynn debts. The bonds are not clubbed together so a club can go £200,000 in the red and be bailed out, that makes no sense at all to do that. That's not what I meant, but it's interesting if the BSPA had nigh on £360k to blow on GTR'S... Could have got a decent national tv ad for that money and benefit ALL UK Speedway, if those figures are to be believed??
Daniel Smith
That's not what I meant, but it's interesting if the BSPA had nigh on £360k to blow on GTR'S... Could have got a decent national tv ad for that money and benefit ALL UK Speedway, if those figures are to be believed?? They haven't spent £360k. They've given Gerhard a guarantee of that figure over a time period, say 3-4 years. If Gerhard hasn't received that number of sales the BSPA will pay the remaining balance or a renegotiated deal to be carried over. Gerhard certainly hasn't knocked up £360k worth of equipment
Lord Skid
Trouble is the bond rarely covers the debts, and Riders are near the bottom of the pile, when it comes to getting monies owed.
teaboy279
Watched young Jack Thomas on his brand new GTR and was the fastest rider all day, I had him down as maintaining what he built up last year but his speed today I fully expect him to be an out and out head leader by July. The engine itself seems too pull and pull, without so many unpredictable rear ups the favoured GM gets.
SCB
That's not what I meant, but it's interesting if the BSPA had nigh on £360k to blow on GTR'S... Could have got a decent national tv ad for that money and benefit ALL UK Speedway, if those figures are to be believed?? Hows that going to help? Let's assume that on Wednesday at 7.45 the Sport gets a minute long free advert during the Coronation Street break. Will it help the sport? Obviously a bit as for the next week crowds might well be up a little bit will they be up the week after? No, not once people have turned up and been charged £2 to park in a field full of holes and rubbish or on a crater filled, rubble car park full of puddles only to then get in having paid £17 for the meeting to be abandoned at heat 8 with no refund having stood in a crumbling stadium, with piss poor toilet facilities and little or no protection from the rain that he'd been falling for the last two heats. And to make matters worse if the meeting had started on time and run at a reasonable pace by the 9pm rain deluge they could have run 15 heats but they delayed the start then run at a sedate (almost slow) pace. You need to fix the produced before you start promoting it. And in theory, for that 360k investment they'll get all their money back when they sell the engines. Had they bailed out BV, Leicester or Coventry they'd have got no money back.
stevehone
youngsters getting the GTR has to be the way to get this deal working .. the established riders won't want to know, but get the kids on board now so when the regs say everyone has to use GTR it won't be such an issue

Most buy second hand (complete) bikes for about £1,000!
Tsunami
But how was it funded by the BSPA. Have their really thrown £360k into the pot, I doubt it. More likely they have guaranteed sales of the engine to that value in order to justify Gerharts initial financial layout. They haven't spent £360k. They've given Gerhard a guarantee of that figure over a time period, say 3-4 years. If Gerhard hasn't received that number of sales the BSPA will pay the remaining balance or a renegotiated deal to be carried over. OveFundinFan
To me that looks different to Freddies motor of last year, and it looks more lay down, almost horizontal. Or do I need to make an appointment at Specsaver?

speedibee
Gospeed should have been made to guarantee the £360.000 out of the millions they have taken out of the sport in return for nothing
teaboy279
Well having looked electric in practice, Jack Thomas had a tough night on his at the u21. I suppose with any new thing it's trial and error trying to work out sets and the like. You have to forget everything you already know kinda thing. teaboy279
Maybe not in the wider community but I thought he was nailed on to qualify.
Sings4Speedway
Maybe not in the wider community but I thought he was nailed on to qualify. Certainly thought he would be more in the mix. Anybody know if he was on last years GTR or the replacement as im told the original had issues?
teaboy279
The new engine that has looked rapid in practice. Imagine the issue was with electronics or gearing. Track conditions could need 61 Teeth with the old GM but totally different with these. Tbf I know best part of FA about the older engines let alone the new one. Pure guesswork on my part.
