iris123
Chris Harris has actually been rather fortunate ... How many times have we said that over the years...............
Fromafar
GTR are aiming both for an engine that is competitive at the highest level and also much cheaper to maintain for riders no matter where they ride. Still work being done to improve but another GP rider likely to give it a private test this week with a view to using it in the series. Chris Harris has actually been rather fortunate ... has five engines to use and no service bills as they are still being adapted by Marcel. Im surprised that Harris was chosen as test rider ,he has struggled with set ups most of his career and I can't see what his technical expertise would be . PHILIPRISING
HE wasn't really chosen as such ... showed an interest in trying one at Prague when Gerhard and Kelvin Tatum first publicly tested the engine and it sort of went from there. Kelvin, it has to be said, wasn't keen on that arrangement progressing and has taken a step backwards, for the very reasons alluded to above, but the next rider to try one might be better able to take the project forward.

heathen chemistry
give harris a chance fgs its still in its infant stage , from what ive seen of harris on it, the engine seems quite tractable and lively from the start but needs more straight line speed... But you really need a rider to give precise feedback after each race so a technically efficient rider would be ideal...riding the thing is one thing but technical input is another thing altogether
PHILIPRISING
Is this likely to happen this year ? ONE GP rider testing one this week. But Kelvin, who rides one when doing track testing before some GPs, still feels there is additional work to be done.

The issue is that Bomber is not known for his technical expertise and his ability to get the most out of a bike from a technical POV. How the ride the nuts of a bike and thrill us (at his level), yes! Make a bike work at it's best? No. How often has there been an article on the GP site with him saying he couldn't get the bikes to work?

heathen chemistry
they've got the techically efficient - tatum , and marcel wasnt a bad rider himself, the feedback is how the bike sounds , did it grip better on diff lines, a lot of the fine tuning is done on the bench testing , its getting that power bar down on the track ,

Bream
I would love to see GTR under Grin. He has experience like PK and could give some ideas how the engine feels and how it could be improved. I dont see Harris as a rider who can go around track and then analyze how it went comparing the last time out.

Certainly often seems that way to me.

speedyway
Just wondering what limitations there are in the development of a speedway engine? Better valve springs? Head porting? Better cooling fin design? Differant angle on the engine on the frame? If someone could start again from scratch what would the engine be like.
