Leicester V Poole Monday 25/05/15

Recommended Posts

Anyone who saw the meeting would know it didnt matter who was in heat 15 , no one had got within half a straight of Janowski all night. He is on fire fantasic performance, if he is dropped forDarcy it will be the worst decision matt ford has ever made and he has made one or two over the years!

Can't believe anyone's not mentioned the "sun break"!!!!

Surely there is something that could be done, other motorsports dont stop for the sun, we didnt have heat four until 9

To be fair, I have ridden BP, and even at my speed/level, the sun does temporarily blind you.. If it was the same level of brightness in your vision, all the way round, you could perhaps cater for it with tinted visors, but it's not and it goes from virtual shade to intense dazzle, and back to shade in less than a second, and it temporarily blinds You on that bend 3 & 4... And it started as a problem higher up in the sky this afternoon/evening because it was so dull to start with, if it had been a typical summer day, with cloudless skys, the change in brightness would have been less drastic.. But even a "sun shield" would need to be 100 feet high on days like today!

Once the longest day passes, it becomes less of a problem, but until then we're pretty much stuffed!

It was a good meeting and the result was closer than I suspected considering the Leicester team.

Janowski was a different class tonight and if Poole do drop him Leicester will do everything possible to convince him to ride for them for the rest of the season. He is a nice guy as well even though he had Doyle off in HT15 straight away he apologised and could tell it was simply a racing accident.

I don't disagree with putting Josh in HT 15 as he was faster than Wozniak and had just won his last ride easily and only got stopped by Dak North doing his usual wild moves.

Leicester do desperately need to do something though now Lewis has had 2nd thoughts and Walasek is out for another 6weeks the riders are just not out there so looks like we will be having guests for a while

I agree flagrag, good riders options that are free and able to commit to a UK EL programme are few and far between.. If you have a gander around the Cov v KL, and the Wolves v Lakeside threads it's been a complete nightmare with regards to teams having full strength 1-7's Wolves had Baby Bjerre guesting as a 3rd heat leader, and Lakeside, well they were worse off than us!!!!!!!!

The current schedule of European speedway, with riders riding in multiple Countries, for multiple teams is nigh on unsustainable, with the liklehood of riders getting injured meaning 3 clubs being then short of a rider! Something has to change, and quick, quite what I don't know... Could the powers that be limit riders to a maximum of representing 2 clubs? In any country, so once you'd signed for say Stal Gorzow and say Leicester, that would be that? If you then wanted to ride for Smederna, you would have to drop one of the others...? (Reduce the overall amount of meetings ridden to reduce the chance of injury/burnout) or would we then be short of quality riders to go around in all countries?

A good meeting tonight. My first this year after having a terrible year with my own problems with my feet all this year. With the team the Lions put together at the last minute, they did really well, very close meeting, that could have gone either way, exect they had Majic riding for them a great rider and a pleasure to watch a true track craftsman at work.

Things just can't get any worse for the Lions though or can they. So we are now cack to the saga of who is going to come into the team. I was very sprised on how many people turned up at the track, after the half way point of the meeting, until then both bends looked very down on the useual number, next time I looked and they had nearly doubled. Do they get in free or at reduced rate then. Good luck to the Lions search for new team members. Must say I was very sad to Lambert ride at reserve, he just can't ride BP to save his life, just 1 point again at home, time for him to go as his last spell at the Lions he couldn't ride it then. a few extra points from him could have made a big difference.

I should think that Bridger has now had his days in speedway over, what club is now going to have him after pulling a stunt like that. To ring at 3.30 to let them know he dosen't think he wants to ride just yet. Heat 15 was a long drawn out affair, was very suprised that Majic didn't get exluded though as the incident was way past turn turn 2 just into the straight, when he pushed Jason into the fence, it even brought a round of Boo's from the crowd. Tony Steel the ref was looking like a tomato in the box, I have never seen anyone go so red in all my life. Sorry to say that the Poole side are not the team they have been, Majic as I said was outstanding but to only win by the margine they did against a botched up Lions team, needs a lot to have to up their game.

I don't sound like he is coming back at all. Someone said that he has posted somewhere that he dosen't feel that it is the right time to return to speedway. He should make his mind up what he is doing.

So why didn't Bridger ride' nothing on the club website explaining this or even a match report, doesn't say much for the club does it.

It's all down to BSMS.

They said at the meeting what had happened, as nothing yet being posted on the Lions site, which is not unuaual. But he rang up at 3.30pm to see that was him done one ride at Swindon, must have just been to much for him. Hard really for anything to be put out about him unti I supose they have had words with him to see what he is actually playing at, until then I don't think we will hear anything. Full marks to the management though to even get a team together, a really quickly botched up side with only 3 of the clubs riders in attendance at the meeting. Lambert would have been better staying at home as well as both the reserves only scored 6 points between them and Lambert had only 1 of those, he just hasn't got the answer to riding BP when he rode here last time in the PL he was shown the door then because he just wasn't producing the goods. The 2 reserves could have won the meeting for the Lions but their total score only met Newmans score alone. With Paul Starke adding another 7 points. Just shows what 2 strong reserves can do for a team It is the same again this time round, can't for the life of me see why they picked him.

As for who they pick now if Bridger has gone I have no ideas just hope they use the points in hand wisley. That is if they have the money to for for any top rider.

I was told last night thatPederson was on £4000 a meeting plus points money. Boy are these riders greedy and then have the nerve to come over here and not even bothering to give their all.

For the sake of British speedway, things must change. If it is true what he was getting per meeting, then what are the like of Iverson etc getting paid. Is it no wonder the clubs are in so many difficulties.

Just been posted on the Lions website and the SCB, that Bridger has retired from speedway again.

So what do they come up with now.

I think you may have missed a decimal point after the first zero...

Yes it's a shame about Lambert because at Peterborough in the afternoon he rode brilliantly to score 15 + 1 points. I know it's Premier League but he just looked so confident on that track. Leicester obviously doesn't suit him.
