Workington V Berwick 25/05/15 15;00 Hrs (lc)

Recommended Posts

The best meeting I've been to this year we did well to keep it close throughout and it could have went either way.

Both the races between Howarth and Barker were superb but Barkers equipment did look slow compared to the other heat leaders.

Barker has been poor imo but I am glad Jorgensen has proven myself and a few others wrong with another solid showing today.

In the last three matches, Ben Barker has produced a sublime pass in Heat 15.

No-one at Shielfield on Saturday will argue about the quality of his pass on Adam Roynon, I trust?

Others may not have been at Ipswich or Workington, but at both matches it was his passes from a good way back, on either third or last laps, which gave Berwick cup progression or today's draw.

While others have said that Barkers form is poor ,I use the word disappointing in respect that the number of bike issues he seems to be having is not what you expect from an established No 1 rider IMO and it reflects in his average. Its fine to talk about his fabulous passes in Heat 15 but what about the races that he is not winning that you would expect from a No1.who looks after his equipment this year is it himself ,as I know he lost a major sponsor regarding his equipment.I would never dispute his commitment in a race but at times you feel does not have the fastest bike in the race.It will be interesting when the better Teams roll up who he will be passing in Heat 15 if he misses the gate.We have got a decent team on paper now, but unfortunately Claus will be hard too replace if he is going to be out for a while.

7.6 is not a number one average

Maybe he's not scored as heavily as he has in past seasons, but he's been bloody good to watch, and has won some crucial heats.

I wasn't at Ipswich, but by all accounts he was coming past Tungate in heat 15, arm pump or no arm pump!

Helped by Sticky withdrawing from the meeting in heat 8 and his replacement Ash Morris winning the rerun

And the best of it is, some moaners and groaners on here don't even go to the speedway! Bloody reptiles!

Doesn't make them a bad person. Not all of em anyway

As a previous poster pointed out I have no idea exactly what folk actually want from the team, about time a few on here started to manage some expectations.

Your not allowed a negiitivecomment on a Berwick thread whether justified or not.but you don't get a reply to a comment that is fact from certain Posters. It is a Speedway forum .It's not the real world, as has been pointed out when things don't go well.

Good to see the usual speedway dinosaura getting out in support of the club. Whatever way you want to look at it, if you sign a 9pt ave rider you expect him to do the business and be scoring to that ave, that means winning the big races for the team. Barkers current ave doesnt lie, the bloke just hasnt done what he was signed to do. I realise its hard for some of the nuggets on here to see that but thats a fact that cant be argued with. Whether he passed Adam Roynon or not, that makes no odds. You look at the job Cook does for Edinburgh, signed as a top man and he delivers, as does Masters, King, Josh G, the list could go on.

Nice to see you are - at long last - conceding that many of the negative comments are not justified.

Only Berwick forum fans could still be moaning after two home wins, an away draw and a cup aggregate win in just over a week. And i find it hilarious that certain fans on here openly admit that they will not go to meetings but still moan about the team on here.

Forget that TJ, Claus and Richard hall are all riding really well at the moment, let's focus on Ben not riding to his average.

I think you are spot on.

There have been a few folk "found out" over the past 2 weeks.
