Glasgow Tigers V Newcastle Diamonds Pl Sun 24th May 2015 @3pm

Glasgow won't be as strong when Sarj and Smith swap places in the team!

Possibly although i think Kozza will get thing's sorted out before then with young James scoring so well from reserve it is only a matter off time before he is in the main body and it will not bother him one little bit if that were to happen think it will be Dimitri dropping to reserve although on current form it may be close between him & Kozza either way we will still be pretty potent at reserve.

At last we managed to get some speedway in without rain although it is still freezing for the time off year pretty uneventful meeting if truth be told not the worst i have seen but pretty mundane stuff.

Although there can't be a team that throw's so many silly point's away more than us all credit to Newcastle for keeping it close but really and i mean no dis-respect to the Diamonds if we had been up against a team with more top end firepower we could have been in trouble today.

It really must be a worry to the management as it is to us on the poor form shown by Kozza at the minute i hope he can turn thing's round sooner rather than later but it is another win in the bag as we continue to play catch up and well done to Rich on his paid max looked to have sorted the mechanical issues he has had until the bike went pop again in Heat 13.

To be fair to Kozza he is only riding when Glasgow are and with the absolute lack of home meetings with rain offs and reserved fixtures where we can't get anyone to come isn't helping. We aren't riding at home again for another 2 weeks now. I thought in the Sheffield match he was overtrying and causing his own problems though he is averaging over 6 so far this season.

Today the meeting lost momentum after a decent first couple of heats, the ongoing tapes malfunction, Steve Worrall bursting an airbag then getting extra time for 3 rides in a row killed the excitement of back to back races where the biting wind made the time seem that bit more longer.

Fair point and the full season out last year is probably not helped i am pretty confident he will be up to speed if we can get some momentum going with a run off meetings for that to happen we need the weather to play ball and behave as if it is nearly summer.

Possibly caused by the fact he's just not very good. You just have to wonder how, in a winter of Visa fiasco, Smith slipped through the net.

but he is exciting to watch and, has got a really cool name,,,, happy he rides for Glasgow, tho that means he's unlikely to guest at Newcastle,,, ;-)

A good win for the Tigers and as Stewart Dickson keeps saying we are not yet firing on all cylinders. The real problem is lack of track time at Ashfield what with 3 Sunday rain offs in a row. Also the meetings we have had at least 3 have been affected by rain/drizzle including today. I left straight after the meeting as it started to rain again, does anyone know how Kyle Bickley got on?

Once again we have a delay, starting gates again, and the meeting dies. We have former Glasgow riders attending, Bobby Beaton, Jim Beaton and David Walsh, could we not maybe get one of them out for an interveiw?

Bluey Scott was interviewed.

Decent meeting (if the wrong result from our point of view!!). Impressed by the new shiny Ashfield.

Too many last places cost us (again). Still debating whether Lewi K would have made much difference. When the home number one only scores 5, a decent team would be able to capitalise on it. We couldn't, which says it all really.

One other thing. How come Christian Henry was the only one warned about moving at the start? Inconsistency between one ref and another is bad enough, but when it's the same ref in the same meeting, it's just plain wrong.

Is it limited to one interview per meeting?

Just wondering, did the new owners know they were in the stadium? For example, did these riders approach them and say you won't know us but we are ex-Tigers riders, feel free to get your presenter to interview us if there is a delay? If they did, totally agree with you, if they didn't then what can the owners do?

Very entertaining afternoon yesterday , Diamonds made a good fight of it thugh we chucked a few points away . Great to see young James being rewarded with heat 15 as his riding deserved it . Though I wish Coventry would rearrange all their fixtures that clash with ours , that would be very helpful

Kozza will click into gear when he drops to reserve. Don't forget he averaged over seven the last time he rode over here. Has an awful lot to offer.

That was effectively the point. Surely there are better options out there than an Aussie who needs a spell at reserve to get going? I'm not really interested in Kozza and/or Glasgow, as such, but when better riders are being kicked out the country and poorer riders remain it just makes things even more farcical.

Sadly after tonight it looks like you are bang on the money with your summary.
