Fast Track Draft Grade List

That was my thinking. Lakeside manager with strong links to Poole.

But as has just been pointed out to me, the June list is the same as the May list - it's probably a mistake.

Can someone explain how Adam Ellis is top and Paul Starke is second while James Sarjeant is still only 5th? He has a higher average than any 2nd tier draft rider in both the EL and the PL.

EL averages;

Adam Ellis 4.60

Paul Starke 3.00

Lewis Rose 2.67

Simon Lambert 3.11

James Sarjeant 5.29

New list has both Bees as number 1 in their respective lists :)

How could this be.Thought the top reserves were based on their PL averages.Or is this now being changed to suit.

Just looked and all draft riders are ordered by EL average. It's only take 1 year and 2 months but they got there!

Oh well.So this now makes a mockery of how the picks were done at the start of the season then.As i would assume the orders would have been totally different.Poole come up smelling of roses again,as would assume Newman would have been in the top 2 of picks instead of the lowly pick he was placed at.

Newman is a Poole asset so why would be not have been chosen by them.......................like Adam Ellis, Lewis Kerr he was a protected rider.............

Not saying you wouldn't have picked Newman, but if he was further up the list as he would have been.you wouldn't have got second pick of the second set of riders. So no doubt wouldn't have got Starke.

For some reason, I was of the impression, you were quite jenned up on what was going on, But from that comment above I was obviously wrong........

As Newman was low down on the list you had an earlier pick for the 2nd round of the draft.

I'm still shocked we managed to get Sarjeant. For me he was likely to be the number 1 2nd draft pick by the end of the season especially as he had a PL place too.

I think Swindon could have had him as we picked before you. The fact we didn't makes me wonder what went on behind closed doors.

Or maybe Rosco just thought Rose was a better option. Not unreasonable on their form last year.

I think based on last season, Sarjeant & Rose looked the strongest options.

When I saw that we had 5th pick in the tier 2 after Lakeside, Wolves, Poole, Swindon, I was convinced that we would lose Sarjeant but luckily Bates,Starke & Rose got selected by those teams instead.

The farce of this year's pick was to use PL averages for the grading, when most had a more relevant EL average and to allow clubs to keep an existing rider even if he wasn't an asset.

Coventry were allowed to protect Garrity, so were able to gain a double advantage merely because they finished bottom in 2013. This year Leicester should have been able to pick him.
