Gazza66
Can't see a thread for this match so thought I would start one. Workington bring a depleted team to hoddesden tonight due to Kenneth Hansen riding for his polish club so Luke crang comes in at no1. Also r/r for Kyle howarth after his ht13 fall last night at derwent park. Imo rye should progress now.
jenga
just when there was so many positives from last nigh. as much as i admire k.k.h on a bike . how many more meetings is he going to miss ? my heart goes out to the promotion. Workington are just going to be going through the motions at rye. no real pride in this result can be gained from this meeting for rye house.just one fixture less for Workington riders = less cash. Â this n.l. guest rule has prob knocked a few travelling supporters off the rye gate.just like the Redcar fiasco.. but that the rule and we must obey the mickey mouse people who call themselves the B.S.P.A... Â thought we had got away from the peter karllson days of other clubs having a bigger pull on riders.. Edited May 17, 2015 by jenga
cityrebel
It's just another nail in the coffin of a sport that is losing more credibility on a daily basis. The real losers are the fans of both clubs, for the promoters, they continue to fiddle while Rome burns.
topgun
Speedway is getting a joke a no 1 that rides at home. But can't ride a way what good is that to us . A Comet should be a Comet
Lord Lucan
I thought 12pts would make this a very interesting 2nd leg this afternoon but with no Hansen, Harrison or Howarth, Wethers not up to speed, two struggling reserves and an NL guest if Rye dont hit us for six then they must be in worse shape than we are? Â Absolutely unbelievable position to be in, talk about the wheels falling off, hope Ricky/Rene are up for it, gonna need them up to the plate big style to save us here, just hoping for some good luck and a following wind and a better than anticipated result? jenga
the person i eel really sorry for is tony jackson. knowing he has to travel there with no a cat in h3lls chance of getting any form of result. then has to travel back. i would like to see us get the rub of the green, but its going to have to be a BIG rub . still hope the lads put up a good show and come away with some pride. Â looking forward to seeing rye fans making comments about the meeting.. 1 heat leader , two second strings and 3 , 3 point reserves are not going to get the result we want.. Â BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.. jamlad
What an utter farce, not a bit of wonder speedway is on it's a...!!! Â What was the point in last nights meeting to not progress today , another cup the comets are out of surely to God the promotion must have known the risks of signing Hansen , this is ridiculous, two missed meetings in a week , feel for other guys surely they must be peed off too , all that hardwork last night for nothing !!! comet49
Apparently there's an agreement that Hansen won't miss any more matches for us riding for his club. Edited May 17, 2015 by comet49

bolly
at the interval (heat 8) there is still only 3 points separating the 2 teams .. Â According to my programme the score after 7 heats was 30 - 12 ??? Perhaps we were watching different matches ?? Â That's 6 points ahead if you allow for 12 point lead. 18 points on the day. Django
http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=100494 Â Wonder how long this agreement will last on the Polish side of things. Exactly, it's not worth the paper it's written on, the Polish side will abuse it when it suits them and threaten Kenneth with a big fine, at the end of the day the rider will ride for whoever he wants, I think the UK comes pretty low on his list of priorities. Embarrassing result today through no fault of anyone but the rules, should have done what Poole did and called it off due to a weakened side so their would be no entertainment

It was obvious before the start that the track was under watered. I felt sorry for the fans on the back straight that were getting covered.
