Wolves V King's Lynn Monday 18th May

Recommended Posts

Danny King to replace Musielak, RR for Lindgren.

My initial reaction was cheap skate garbage.. however, it does appear as if there are no flights available to Sweden on Tuesday.

So in this case it looks like there hands were tied.

Looks like all avenues were explored, but this looks like our proud record at home is over with such a severely depleted team any points would be a miracle.

If the Stars don't take all 4 points on offer then they won't stand much of a chance in the play offs.

Shame after such a promising start that injuries are likely to derail our top 4 place.

Love your sweeping statements stevebrum :D our team can go from crap to superb in the blink of an eye, really should be looking to win this but we are so inconsistent Wolves could quite easily win comfortably, and whatever the result I don't see too much of an indicator of what might happen in September's KO competition.

Prediction 45-45 ;)

No space left. Freddie had a ticket which he won't now be using ;)

Wolves tried to book Harris but only 20mins before another team had booked him to guest. Wonder who for? Would have to be Janowski,NKI,Nicholls or Zagar as average to high for rest.

Janowski. He was booked early this morning yesterday

'Hi Chris, I've done my ribs, won't be able to make monday'

'OK Freddie, just hang on to your plane reservation until we've booked a guest in case we need it for them'.

Rocket science it ain't.

But why when Janowski rode & scored well in Poland today? Surely can't have a guest when he's not injured even if he does struggle at Belle Vue

Good question.

It's hardly a sweeping statement tho! With no recognised number one if you can't win this match you would struggle with most others!

The Stars definetly haven't fired yet the way they did last season and let's face it besides the Bees no other team really has yet!

Iversen should go thru the card, Roo knows his way around Monmore and Lambert should be in double figures too - he was perhaps the most exciting rider at Monmore last season.Eve iv Kenny can come up with 5 or 6 you've hold still win.

Hopefully the spirit of the Wolf will get strong and if we do get something out of this or actually win then there is a good chance we have what it takes to go the distance, injuries permitting.

On paper this match has huge away win all over it.

A very good point.

So once again the cheap option has been taken.

I shouldn't have been so foolish!

Why should Puk go through the card? He was average last Wednesday and last night in the GP, no reason at all why PK for example shouldn't beat him. If Lynn ride as they did at Belle Vue the other week then you (stevebrum) could ride at number one and Wolves would still win. We have seen teams be poor early in the season and lose matches they really shouldn't yet be highly competitive come the PO's so it won't mean an awful lot if we lose, apart from perhaps make any team changes happen a little quicker ;)

Why should Puk go through the card?

Why would he?? Do you really want me to answer that? ?

Besides an in form and classy PK we are a bunch of second strings.

Niels is a World class EL number one that should have no competition on Monday night.

Granted like all numbers ones this season he hasn't attained his usual high level of consistency but an off night for him is going to let you down big time. I'd be delighted if he did (purely on the basis that Wolves might surprisingly win!)

Paid 9 from 4 (plus an EF) in Poland so far, so he's riding well tonight. But he's been quite poor generally this season by his standards.

edit > as I post that he runs a last!

A world class number one who is struggling for form! You are doing your own team members a disservice if you think that at least one of them can't/won't beat him. He may well go through the card but the chances are on current form that he won't. As SCB says he's not had a good year so far. Wells, Thorsell, King, PK, Blackbird & Bates could all outscore their opposite numbers but they may not......the whole point is that it's very much in the balance, an injury hit side against a highly inconsistent one. Could go either way. Edited by Gordon Bennett

World class inconsistent number one that is still 2nd on current averages this year (speedway star the source) which just goes to show how poor the rest of the supposed top riders are doing in comparison to Iversen this year.

To be fair I don't think I am doing our boys a disservice. Ricky, Jacob aren't meant to be expected to beat a GP star. PK on form should be expected to give him a run and even King is having a decent enough season to possibly push him in the odd heat but king is nearly 2 points down on average to Niels.

He may well be having a inconsistent year by his own extremely high standards but 2nd in the current averages tells a different service, if anything you are doing him a disservice!

A team that is built top heavy versus a team built with a powerful number one who isn't riding due to injury means that the top heavy team should have a field day. That isn't doing my team disservice IMHO.

Should have a field day, but may not as they are so inconsistent. And riding against a team undefeated at home who, even without their number one, are full of Monmore specialists. And Lynn very, very rarely win there.

So could go either way.

Stevebrum I normally like most of your posts, but you seem to be taking a leaf out of Shovlars book with this one by getting the excuses in early just in case you don't win.

That's our hone record gone , none of the numbers one besides Janowski are worth the risk. Injuries ruining other teams this season looks like it's our turn to be affected.

Fear not ! a bit of rain around tomorrow clearing up about 3 in the afternoon. My prediction a 11 am call off.

Home record still in tact

If we win we will have done an amazing job. We are a team of second strings with no number one. It's not making excuses as no one would give us a chance to beat a team of 3 heat leaders and an on fire Lambert.

If we get anything from this I'd imagine it will change the minds of all the doubters who said we were dead certs for the basement this year.

I don't expect us to win so I'm not getting any excuses in by the way.
