Garrity to guest for a heat leader?

You gotta be joking!

Around Wolves absolutely not. Can beat anyone round there and was beating Wolves heat leaders consistently last season. Shame for you it's not allowed. Edited by woz01

Better than some of the riders that have been suggested in places!

And 100 times better than booking Howarth at Kings Lynn..

Not that it's allowed.

Cant see where its not allowed in the regulations.

Also Bees used Lewis Blackbird as a guest last year in the top 5 and he scored 8 or 9 I think.

Not saying Garrity is the answer as r/r is your best option especially at Monmore.

Sorry, but Garrity is not EL heatleader quality.

But he is at Wolves as you claimed yourself.

'not when you have Garrity who rides like a heat leader at monmore ' ! Guess who wrote that on the wolves vs bees thread ?

Exactly. I'm not claiming he is a heatleader everywhere far from it but at Wolves he has showed it often. Edited by woz01

He rides like a heat leader at reserve that much is very true. But IN a tougher heat leader race jacket I doubt he would be anywhere near as potent. Nor should he be expected to be. This isn't a Diss at Jason, far from it. I rate the kid and with the right guidance could move up the Speedway ladder rapidly.

He rode like a heat leader last year in the British Final. He beat Woffy on his own track.

OK let's put it another way if Garrity was named in a starting line up as a heat leader in the EL I don't think there is one person who would be happy with it. At Wolves or anywhere.

Maybe not but many would be happy if he was named as a 4 point second string. That is what we are actually talking about when making comparisons to Musielak.

I agree. However Musielak is struggling as a heat leader so I think the point being made by myself and others is Garrity would be likely to still score more than he would have.

I think R/R is still a stronger option.

Musielak is averaging 5.07 not 4. At present we have to take maximum advantage of his assessed average while we can. Whilst Garrity would likely score 4 or 5 points we can use someone with a higher scoring potential as a guest.

No it isn't.

If you haven't grasped the difference between riding as a heat leader and a second string in this system I despair.

At second string musielak would be a 7 Pter

He wouldn't be likely. It's a completely different situation. Riding at reserve or second string you have easier races to gain confidence in. Not pitched in against tough opponents in every heat.

Of course I'm aware of the vagaries of the current system. However, the standard of riders at reserve and second string is generally higher this year than last. I am not convinced that a 4 point heat leader would average 7 as a second string. You have to be very poor to average such a low figure.

I have seen Musielak ride, he has potential but he is not yet close to the standard of riders like King,Schlein, Lambert, Cook or Wells and riding as a second string, would be beaten by them more often than not. I was using the figure of 4 to make a point to Stevebrum, that it is a significant advantage to be able to replace him on his assessed average. Realistically and on current form, I would expect Musielak to average about 5.5 as a second string.
