Tsunami
the wind and rain normally keeps the fog away from the stadium. Not when it comes over from the Irish Sea. It's bloody freezing, especially if you stand on the perimeter of the 1st/2nd bend. Back straight for me every time, despite the locals. topaz325
Looks like we will be in for a night of stormy weather and with no plane in sight we could be in for a bumpy ride, with all three Danes back in the side i,m sure the Comets can have a handsome victory at Derwent Park, how on earth will it all turn out, im sure it will be a case of "Alls well that ends well". GM
Workington's reserve's are simply going to be a burden all season. Barrett never going to improve he has one win then nothing for ten rides. Graves well he young but not quite ready for me he needs time in a team where is points are not crutial. Weathers signing makes us weaker as R/R would bring us more points. I'm really concerned that with this poor team this could be our last speedway season in Workington. I'm going to attend as many meetings as I can as I do think this will be our last season. No way can Laura loose money again like she did last season and with this team the crowds are simply disappearing. Last weeks crowd was as low as I've seen at Workington. We have a number one that's simply not a number one a captain that's not a captain just in it for himself never once seen him team ride or help anyone ( showed a couple of weeks ago how good a captain he is when his bike broke down and not one rider offered him a bike !!!!). And the weakest set of reserves in the league. I'm gutted watching this unfold. Edited May 16, 2015 by GM
Django
That's certainly one take on things GM I would look at things a different way - we've won all our home meetings so far and won two away. We've won a close fought challenge and brought silverware back. We've lost away from home against probably the 3 best sides in the league which there is no shame in. We've had to make 5 changes to the line up from the team that was originally being put together. I don't think things are as bad as you're painting them. Yes the reserves need to be stronger, Nicki can do it but his confidence is down following the falls he's taken, I agree it's maybe to soon for Nathan in this league but he has the talent. I think when Kenneth gets his true average and Ricky goes to number 1 we will hopefully see an opportunity to strengthen at reserve. Let's see what tonight brings
jenga
look into the future and all will be revealed... get some batteries in the calculator and start working numbers out.. minus one. while its tough, its still speedway, but not as we know it. roll on June and ask yourself a question, why matty was signed ? hope he is still here. Django
Have to say young Nathan showed real guts and determination to earn his points last night. In his earlier races he was getting caught by Lykke coming round the outside on 3&4 but he learned, went higher and held him off, good for him. Hope Kyle isn't out for too long, I don't think anyone was going to beat him last night, he looked great, much better from Kenneth too, disappointing that they both miss today, will be an uphill task to progress Edited May 17, 2015 by DynamoDave
