penchev
When Bellego returns Garrity can now stay and Bellego can replace Proctor. And how long before Bellego returns?
spin king
Now this for me is the farce. Sheffield knowingly took the risk, it failed. They now get a facility for a rider who they could only ever offer a contract to until now, so why do they get a facility? If I did not know that you were going to be out of pocket because any chance we had of winning the league has gone I would say your actually enjoying this. I'm loving it. Told I didn't know anything, got all sorts of abuse. Turned out I was right all along. This is one great big, "Told you so" from me. I'm also not worried about the bet as Bellego will replace him, so no harm done. Edited May 12, 2015 by SCB

They chose to sign him knowing if he didnt meet the criteria after 60 days he'd be booted out. As for an EU dud, they'll just retain BRITISH rider Jason Garrity when David Bellego returns. Surely thats a good thing? Fair enough, but what is answer to post 32?
BWitcher
Putting aside the fact the right or wrongs, and who is dumb and who is not. What happens if a rider is given 60 days to prove themselves and goes out first race and gets injured and does not ride for the duration of the 60 days, would this mean the visa is revoked. He wasn't given 60 days, he had last season too. He simply had 60 MORE days to reach the required level. Why ? They have been cruelly robbed of a rider's services . Only fit and proper that they can remain competitive until they can sign an EU dud to replace Procter . Cruelly robbed? He had a visa that expired in the 2nd week in May. They knew that was the case. They knew what was required for him to obtain a new one. They failed to ensure he achieved it. Nobody has been 'cruelly robbed'. It is Sheffields own ineptitude that has put them in this situation.
Fromafar
I have given up trying to understand the rules and reg,s there is no consistency in some off there decision making. The sport is a joke .Nobody seems to know the rules, made up as situations arise most days.Have to feel for Procter like has been mentioned he is not really doing a decent Brit out of a job IMO .Still rules are Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes.!

mudflaps
Between rain , the ineptitude of the Peterborough promotion and now more red tape nonsense , it's not been a good week so far . bit harsh mate - not the promotions fault is it? Blame lays firmly at the hands of the Landlords....

BWitcher
Proctor has picked up 10 bonus pts this year. Had he finished ahead of his partner in 7 of those races, he'd have a 7pt average and a new permit. Poor, poor management.
lucifer sam
Fair enough , the know alls are right and rules are rules and all that nonsense . But it's morally wrong , are these riders doing a 6 point Brit out a job , of course they're not . So Sheffield , and probably us , will have to draft in some European who wouldn't be able to tie the likes of Proctors laces . Between rain , the ineptitude of the Peterborough promotion and now more red tape nonsense , it's not been a good week so far . Paulco, were you going on Friday? It's very wrong to call this off less than a week before the meeting, when there's opposing fans travelling down from Scotland. All the best Rob

I don't think you can take that into account, on occasions he has battled through from 3rd to take a bonus points. End of the day rubbish happens I don't agree with it and I feel for the rider but we move on.

Mind you it was said that Ipswich decided to go against the ruling and paid their riders.

Any management team worth their salt would know EXACTLY what proctors running average was. They would know EXACTLY how many pts he needed to score. If it required team mates slowing up to let him by close to the line, as when on a Tac ride, then that is what was required. For them to now claim this is a shock simply shows utter ineptitude on their part. .It is rubbish decision though. There isn't any decision making involved. It's like you losing 48-42 then claiming its a rubbish decision that the other team won.

Sounds easy in principle, but unless you have seen all of the 10 races where he has gained a bonus point which neither you and I have I don't think we can make a judgement. Also should a rider be expected to let his partner through and lose money. Unless you are Ipswich who went against the ruling of paying bonus points.
